who might be thinking of joining.

You will only be allowed to stay if: you can spell, can type, have a good grasp of English grammar, and preferably have a degree (OU is allowed).

And whatever you do don't show any sign of a slightly smutty sense of humour. That will make the poor gentle-women on here tear their hair, and Gransnet will delete you in case you scare off any potential advertisers. (not there seems to be many at the moment)

Ana Why do brussel sprouts spring to mind? Oh dear! I can be soooooo juvenile! blush

Ana Fri 30-Nov-12 17:52:17

shock And it could have been so much worse!

JessM Fri 30-Nov-12 17:49:23

Friend of mine was running a training course using radio microphone, pinned to her lapel. Toddled off to the toilet. Didn't turn it off, so all the chaps heard her having a wee!

Ana Fri 30-Nov-12 17:04:28

I actually asked the woman who did my last mammogram how it worked with very small breasts, as she was manhandling my rather more ample one onto the plate! She just said 'We manage.' Yes, it does hurt, doesn't it soop hmm

soop Fri 30-Nov-12 17:01:10

How do you think it feels to squeeze 34G inbetween the plates? Phoenix It hurts!

Anne58 Fri 30-Nov-12 16:55:14

Same here, I have a section of my right hip bone in my upper jaw, don't ask!

I was also a holy terror when the youngsters in the office moaned about smear tests. We are damn lucky to have that service available, and not to have to pay at the point of provision for it. Same goes for mammograms, although how they ever managed to get my 32 A's between those plates is beyond me!

soop Fri 30-Nov-12 16:50:38

phoenix I really am most grateful. Throughout my life, ten operations and countless investigations, must have cost an awful lot of money. Thank you NHS. flowers

Wish my husband would wear his!

Anne58 Fri 30-Nov-12 16:28:46

There's an awful lot of modern technology in the health sector that we should be grateful for. So glad that you are pleased with it soop

soop Fri 30-Nov-12 16:25:31

Ha ha...tee hee. I'm hardly aware that the aid is pushed so far into my ear. It's far more comfortable than I imagined. So grateful for the improvement. For something so small, it works wonders. grin

Ana Fri 30-Nov-12 16:21:27

Self-defeating hearing aid! shock

Anne58 Fri 30-Nov-12 16:10:08

shock grin

soop Fri 30-Nov-12 16:00:40

Deafening! phoenix grin

Anne58 Fri 30-Nov-12 15:28:46

But soop have you had an amplified wee yet?

soop Fri 30-Nov-12 12:52:08

grin ...^you lot^ are such a laff. Have just reported on another thread - 'What should I be doing...' that the aid is in and doing a very good job. I hadn't realised how much I've been missing. When I'm next at the Scottish Gransmeet, be warned, I shall be able to hear even the naughtiest of words.

soop Thu 29-Nov-12 12:49:59

Off to have a hearing aid fitted. Warned that for the first few days certain sounds may take some getting used to. shock Apparently, when I wee, it will sound like Niagara falls...[naughty titters!] grin
