Fabulous! Try it everyone smile

Greatnan Wed 05-Dec-12 12:37:44

I can see my daughter's garden in New Zealand, and the Yorkshire street where my other daughter lives. A friend posted it on Facebook but I wasn't sure I could get the link correctly.

Wow! I have not only seen our own house and my daughters houses, but also our newly booked holiday home on Barra for next summer hope the snow has stopped when we get there.

Thank you, Greatnan xx

I've had it on the iPad for ten minutes and it still says Loading...

NfkDumpling Wed 05-Dec-12 13:03:54

NfkDumpling Wed 05-Dec-12 13:05:04

{excited face} VERY cool greatnan

jO5 Wed 05-Dec-12 13:58:13

That is so great! Have sent link to grandsons. smile

Greatnan Wed 05-Dec-12 14:02:02

Try putting in the address next door if you don't get a good view of your own house.

Anne58 Wed 05-Dec-12 14:05:55

I put in Buckingham Palace, I don't think her Maj will be any too chuffed with the view until the owner of that car moves it. It's been there for ages....

Greatnan Wed 05-Dec-12 14:08:20

Do you think she has a stalker, Phoenix?

soop Wed 05-Dec-12 14:16:56

Brilliant! I've seen my youngest son's lovely home for the first time. Now, I'm well and truly hooked. Someone...please drag me off to do what I'm supposed to be doing. wink

Anne58 Wed 05-Dec-12 14:19:19

Wouldn't be the first time, Greatnan , remember the chap who got into her bedroom?

whenim64 Wed 05-Dec-12 14:19:43

That's nice soop smile

Greatnan Wed 05-Dec-12 14:23:00

soop - have you downloaded Google Earth? I can see my daughter's car in her garden in New Zealand, and move all round her garden.

annodomini Wed 05-Dec-12 14:33:16

It can't find my DS1's address in Sandhurst. I wonder if that's because it's an unadopted road. Got an approximation of DS2's address - all the houses in the cul de sac have the same postcode and his is in a smaller cul de sac just off the main one!

cinnamonstix Wed 05-Dec-12 14:34:38

I put in my address and it gave me another house down the road... I then put in an address 10 doors down, and it gave me the same house again! Pssh.

Greatnan Wed 05-Dec-12 14:36:11

I can't get my block of flats, either, just the village, but it doesn't matter as I can look out of the window at the snow. It is looking good for the skiing season, which usually starts on the 10th, so probably next weekend.

Elegran Wed 05-Dec-12 14:50:58

Google maps can do it too. You keep zooming in as far as poss then lift the little yellow man onto the map at the point you want to see.

Ella46 Wed 05-Dec-12 14:59:38

Yes but it doesn't snow on google maps! grin
It's like that advert for something or other that had a plane going down the road!

jO5 Wed 05-Dec-12 15:06:04

Yes! That's what I thought Elegran.

jO5 Wed 05-Dec-12 15:06:25

Sorry! it was Ella!
