Bolthole, anyone?

Every now and again, I feel the need for the sanctuary of a Gransnet Bolthole. I've got the logfire going, swept the snow away from the path, and the kettle's just about to boil. Tea and crumpets, anyone? smile

where is greatnan? She has been very quiet lately,I hope she isn't ill or lost in the snow.

Movedalot Sun 20-Jan-13 11:34:24

Yes please. My back is worse today and my sore throat has come back, am in need of coffee and sympathy please. Has the smell of bacon gone yet?

If Greatnan is looking in, there is a cosy fireside chair and Sunday brunch awaiting you, and any other Gransnetters who would like a relaxing morning in good company smile

Tea's ready, if anyone would like a cup? The fire is roaring, there's a big mound of bacon butties, and now we have fresh eggs. I can't see me getting much done this morning! grin

Good morning, folks! There's a fresh basket of logs in the corner and I see someone has kindly cleaned up. I've got rashers of bacon and some fresh rolls, so help yourself to bacon butties. Back shortly with milk, then we'll get mugs of tea on the go.

Mornin' OUCH! Defo some fresh air....bit of snow clearing I think...

Ariadne Sun 20-Jan-13 09:56:00

Morning all! Think a bracing walk on the beach is called for - there seem to be a few cobwebs in my head to be blown away....

grannyactivist Sat 19-Jan-13 23:12:43

Sloe gin AND champagne Ariadne mmmmm, that's my kind of cocktail! grin

whenim64 Sat 19-Jan-13 22:57:37

What's this then? No curry left and some rather tired Gransnetters lounging by the fire. What's in that jug? Schloer? Smells like shloe gin to me. Can I have the rest? Mmmm...lovely! I've brought pizzas. Quattro formaggi, margherita and a bag of dough balls. Help yourself grin

gracesmum Sat 19-Jan-13 22:47:59

DDs have been enjoying sloe gin and fizz ever since we started making the former - a sort of Kir Royale. wine

Ariadne Sat 19-Jan-13 22:42:05

"slurred" lilygran? Moi? Shlur words? No, no, no! Very sleepy now; I'll just lean on OGM......moon

Oldgreymare Sat 19-Jan-13 22:12:24

Yawn.... warmest I've been for a while, sleepy dogs, warm blankets, glowing fire, sipping sloe gin cocktail in good company.... do you mind if I just rest my eyes a moment.......

Lilygran Sat 19-Jan-13 21:14:42

Just dropped in to borrow a cup of whisky. Was that slurred gin Ariadne?

annodomini Sat 19-Jan-13 21:13:31

Sloe gin and champagne, a new cocktail. What could we call it?

Ariadne Sat 19-Jan-13 21:03:39

At least you're back, OGM. I'll sit here with you and we'll try the sle gin champagne cocktail! Anyone else want some?

Oldgreymare Sat 19-Jan-13 20:23:37

Oh dear, set off at a gallop to fetch whisky and slid into a snowman, sat there with remains of said snowman cascading around me, ended up as an old snow lady.
Ah well, I'd rather have sloe gin any day (creeping back in shamefacedly)...
phew, that's better!
Sighs contentedly and resumes petting three dogs, all steaming in front of the fire. confused

glassortwo Sat 19-Jan-13 20:23:12

Sounds good grin ariadne

Ariadne Sat 19-Jan-13 20:14:35

Wonder what sloe gin in champagne is like....

grannyactivist Sat 19-Jan-13 19:55:01

That reminds me - I have a bottle of sloe gin that just needs tasting. grin
Dare I risk it with daughter so close to her time? (As in, if I'm awash with sloe gin I can't drive and would be useless in the delivery room.) hmm Think I'll try just a little glass.

annodomini Sat 19-Jan-13 19:50:41

Yum, bread pudding, champagne and sloe gin. That sounds like a good recipe for a Saturday evening.

JessM Sat 19-Jan-13 19:12:12
