I AM REJECT (with apologies to Isaac Asimov, for mis-using his book title )

(Which I have never read, by the way)

Evening all, sorry to do this, but just need to get it OUT !

Utterly p*ss*d off at present, another rejection for a job, I got through stage 1 and 2, but was not picked to go through to the next round. BIG blow, stage 2 went so well that I had started to go through my suits to see what I might get into, had even booked a cut & colour plus eyebrow wax. That'll teach me.

Feeling rejected in other ways too, but perhaps that might be TMI.

Sorry again ladies (and any chaps that might be about), but just posting this is sort of cathartic, perhaps that might be selfish, I do appreciate that many have much more to deal with.

Please, I don't need flowers, cup cakes or hugs, and the wine situation is already taken care of, just wanted a little vent. (And not the sort that might be familiar to any poultry farmers out there, or, thinking about it, any tailors)

Thank you.

Much love to all.

phoenix thats a bu**er!!!

Anne58 Thu 24-Jan-13 21:32:01

glass , I actually cried when I got the email.

glassortwo Thu 24-Jan-13 21:34:34

Only natural when things were looking positive, its good to let vent.

Mishap Thu 24-Jan-13 21:36:42

So sorry to hear this. The vital thing is not to interpret it as a personal rejection - hard I know, but very important. Missing out on a job is not evidence of personal failure, but simply shows that there was just one other person who fitted their bill. You did so well to get so far, so I send congratulations for that.

Be pissed off now and take a deep breath and plough on with all our good wishes.

janeainsworth Thu 24-Jan-13 21:36:49

$%! !!!!
Love to you too P

Ana Thu 24-Jan-13 21:37:19

j07 Thu 24-Jan-13 21:40:50

I don't understand about the poultry farmers and the little vent.

I can't cheer you up. Sorry.

I just wondered about the poultry farmers....................

never mind.

MiceElf Thu 24-Jan-13 21:42:17

All I can suggest is to give Digby a big stroke and tell him all about it. He'll understand.

Ana Thu 24-Jan-13 21:46:08

jingl I wish you weren't feeling crap too....
Double sad

merlotgran Thu 24-Jan-13 21:47:57

I don't have any neighbours, phoenix so if it's any help I'll go outside and scream obscenities on your behalf.

Keep your chin up and don't let the b*****ds grind you down.

Tegan Thu 24-Jan-13 21:54:13

Still have your hair done, though. It's their loss.

Ariadne Thu 24-Jan-13 21:57:40

Sent you a message, P xx

annodomini Thu 24-Jan-13 22:01:27

If you know we are all feeling pissed off for you, will it lighten the burden of pissed-off-ness? If not, your various cats should help - it's a known fact that stroking a cat relieves stress. (blimey, I typed 'striking' - good job I noticed!)

jeni Thu 24-Jan-13 22:01:47

Love to you! It's horrible when you get rejected, I know! Been there!

I'm sure with your attitude and character you will succeed!

baubles Thu 24-Jan-13 22:07:12

That sucks phoenix sorry.

whenim64 Thu 24-Jan-13 22:18:35

Sorry phoenix. If there was any justice, you would have the top job now. These people have no idea what a tour de force they would have in their midst, if they would just give you a chance. x

Anne58 Thu 24-Jan-13 22:39:48

Thank you all so much, you will never know how much your good wishes are appreciated.

merlot feel free! but please don't damage your vocal chords, if I was doing it and giving it the "welly" that I feel I think my voice would give out!

MiceElf Lovely though Digby is, his understanding of anything beyond sleeping and eating cat biscuits is very limited. However he is usually a very well intentioned cat, although he often gets things wrong. (Maurice would verify this, if he wasn't sulking in the spare room after Digby had mistaken Maurices swishing tail as a particularly realiatic cat toy)

anno cat "striking" almost happened a minute ot two ago when Lily (neither use not ornament) sashayed across the desk and nearly knocked my glass over!

Sorry not to mention everyone, and also sorry to sound a bit flippant in my replies, it might seem as if I'm making light of my own situation, which I suppose I am, in my own way.

Oh heck!

grannyactivist Thu 24-Jan-13 22:50:31

Phoenix your situation right now is rubbish. I'm sure we all hope you get a good job - and soon.
jingle, sorry you're feeling bad too.

Stansgran Fri 25-Jan-13 09:31:27

I'm lost about the poultry. Poultry is roasted and eaten. Phoenix is not a chicken she rises ,slightly singed above the flames.

Butty Fri 25-Jan-13 09:34:17

J - sunshine for you. x
