Blood test should be back the following day so could ring up to get the results from the triage nurse.

Celeb took one pill and felt most peculiar. DH has just fed me and feel a bit bettef but will have to take them with caution. Yes, I do have to pay for the scan but it is worth it. Full marks to GP for phoning them while I was there and asking how much, nicely done. He doesn't know my financial position and was just doing to so I knew what I was committing too.

movedalot More thoughts re the co-codamol. Try eating one of those ready to eat dried figs twice a day if you take the cocodamol. It might stop problems.

Or dried apricots - they have never failed me, even with codeine.

Hopefully you are having an MRI scan of your spine?

Plenty of fibre! NO ALCOHOL with co codamol or you WILL feel very odd!

Try the dried figs and apricots together both lightly soaked to soften a bit more, and add a sliced banana. That makes a lovely dessert. The flavours seem to complement each other wonderfully. Add a good vanilla ice cream and its just divine. It should improve the Co-codamol side effects as well as tasting good.

Failing that moved, Ortisan is a very good, natural, laxative fruit cube!

Movedalot, please be careful with the Co-codamol, I know others have said the same, but it can be very potent, my DH was on it for quite a long time doing fine on it, and suddenly he became really weird and angry, it took some persuading to go the Dr. but he did, and it was the cocodamol, and as soon as he came off it he returned to his dear self, not trying to frighten you off it just be careful. I do hope the scan will sort things out for you, and will be thinking of you. Aren't the GN's a fantastic lot, I was so greatful to all of you when I was ill, (and will be yelling for comfort again when I have togo in hospital for my op.still waiting for a date) So pleased for you that you are getting quick treatment it is so horrible being in pain so hope you will soon be free from it. Movedealot your gp sounds very good, yes well worth having it sooner rather than later for your peace of mind.

Co codamol are quite strong Jeni better to advice than me, reckon she got point best no alcohol, think they will help though.

Movedalot, hope you're feeling a bit better this morning - it must have been a really miserable time for you. On the subject of other things not 'moving' - I can recommend kiwi-fruit. 2 or 3 a day will give you vitamin C and all you need to keep regular (as they used to say in the All-Bran ads)!

I just want to tell you what a good experience I have had. When I left the doc yesterday I spoke to a really understanding receptionist who fitted me in for a blood test this morning when there were no spare slots.

This morning we realised I should have made an appointment to see my doc as soon as the scan had been done so asked today's receptionist but she was not so helpful and told me I had to wait until Monday. I also asked if the fax had gone to the hospital and it hadn't. DH pushed and said it was a priority and that the doc had said it would be first thing but she wouldn't budge and said it would go this morning.

When I got in to see the nurse it was very different. The doc had spoken to her about me and told her to tell me that my scan would be at 1100 tomorrow. He must have called them again after I left yesterday. What a nice man. I then asked her what I needed to do if the scan showed something nasty and told her I couldn't see my doc until Monday. She went and spoke to the Practice Manager and got me appointment for 1550 tomorrow. She was so kind and concerned and wished me luck and said she hoped it wasn't anything nasty. She was a really nice Brummie.

It makes me feel much better when so many seem to be on 'my side'
