Gally I can picture you there. grin What a lovely way to remember.....flowers
Yesterday I spent most of the day cleaning (again), so today I'm going to chill out and knit, do a bit of baking, maybe take a little walk, then prepare tea. At 4 o'clock I'll join my friends at the local nursing home where we'll sing and chat to the residents for an hour - and then we'll all pile back here for sandwiches and cake.

A belated grin on this thread, Jess. Good times.

JessM Sun 27-Jan-13 16:23:15

yes enjoying a chilled day in the company of young relatives today. Lovely people. Fortunately not too weary after lousy night's sleep. Funny how that goes. smile

flowers for gally

Gally Sun 27-Jan-13 21:04:19

Thank you all flowers We had a good day, walked our socks off, climbed up to Sacre Coeur and lit a candle for J, had lunch in a wacky place looking out over Paris, walked along the Seine, went to a short choral concert in Notre Dame and then toasted him with a Kir Royal before dinner in the Latin Quarter. I hope he had fun too, he would have loved a day like that smile

I'm thinking of when - and the imminent arrival of a new grandchild. smile sunshine

Bags Mon 28-Jan-13 08:56:17

I'm going to attempt to clean off the black shoe polish that DD has kindly smeared on the stair carpet (by accident).

Hope all goes well, when. We'll be waiting for the news smile

FlicketyB Mon 28-Jan-13 09:11:04

What I had intended to do was go to church, have a leisurely lunch and spend the afternoon doing some sewing, making a cushion cover and sorting out some tapestry

What I actually did was stay in bed all day suffering from the nasty cough and cold DGD kindly shared with me when I was staying last week and a bad migraine at the same time. Do not recommend either and together is even worse.

I had a lovely birthday. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Lis Miz was amazing and I wasn't the only one in the cinema who cried during it. I've seen the play three times since it first opened. Love the music.

I then had supper with my daughter, SIL and DGD and DGS. And CAKE!!! cupcakecupcake

Visit Theseus! But, as there are three rugby matches on today (he's a Scot!!) I can juggle the timing quite a bit.

Marelli Sat 02-Feb-13 08:07:25

It's a lovely day with a clear sky and ice on the bird bath. I'm going to put some leggings under my jeans, a vest under my jumper (or two) and head for St Andrews. Whilst there, I shall have a good hunt through the charity shops. Haven't been there for ages - and I need some 'new' jumpers! smile

glassortwo Sat 02-Feb-13 08:56:59

Oh I wish I was coming with you Marelli I love St Andrews. I am going for a wander on the Quayside to have a reccy for the Newcastle meetup, I have left my car at the restaurant we were at last night and got a taxi back, living in the sticks cost a fortune for taxis both ways adds £60 to a night out. It a sunny bright and frosty morning here we had a light covering of snow over night.

gillybob Sat 02-Feb-13 09:03:04

Snow over here on the coast too Glassortwo hope you had a lovely birthday meal. smile

Marelli can I come along too? sounds like fun, who knows what bargains we might find between us? Have a lovely day.

Gally Sat 02-Feb-13 09:19:50

Have a great day marelli I love St.Andews on a cold frosty day especially when you can warm up in so many lovely chazzers! I'm going to drive with DD3 and 2 gc's to Seaford to visit my 97 year old aunt. I just lurve driving on the M4/M25 :-(

annodomini Sat 02-Feb-13 09:24:50

Marelli - I wish I was there too. I need a therapeutic dose of St A every so often: reliving my youth. Ha! Chance would be a fine thing! The snowdrops at Cambo will soon be out. I will miss them this year as I'm not coming north until mid March.

annodomini Sat 02-Feb-13 09:26:07

What I am actually going to do today is - be a masochist and watch the Calcutta Cup match on TV - possibly from behind a cushion.

harrigran Sat 02-Feb-13 10:15:14

Lovely bright day here, woke to the sound of neighbours scraping windscreens. DH and I will be going out to lunch to a nice restaurant in Northumberland, as we do nearly every Saturday.
