Good news. The ladies only classes have stopped at my leisure centre.

But, jings, mixed classes are not suitable (or acceptable) to everyone I think he lives where there are not a lot of people to whom it is not right to juggle your bum and/or tum around in mixed company.

It is like Procrustes, who had a bed which fitted everyone perfectly - so long as their feet were chopped off, or their arms and legs stretched to fit.

Younger people seem ok with it. Perhaps older people should be too. Elderly gents would have wear respectable lycra though. That keeps it all in place.

Not sure about the lycra jO7 just think of male ballet dancers.....

I think perhaps a pair of shorts is acceptable, providing they are wearing proper close fitting underpants under them. I do agree that a combination of loose boxer shorts type underwear beneath shorts is asking for trouble!

The thing is, Frank says he lives in Birmingham which has a high percentage of Asians/Muslims and whenever I am there I see a lot of women in traditional dress not just the older ones. Maybe a leafy Home counties suburb might be different or a wee place like my old home town in the Borders. There must be a lot of Asian origin/Muslim council tax payers in and around Birmingham......

I spoke to a lady from my class today and she was pleased that all the classes are now mixed.
She did say a man did come a couple of times when I was on holiday and was clearly there just to look at the women and was taking no interest in the class but he just left.
She did say she noticed we were mainly at the front. Some of the other men like to have a giggle with the instructor but I do not know if men at the front started out of respect for the women or if it was just because they liked to be there.
I did come back from holidays once and on that occasion I was the only man in the class and there was no room at the front. It was August and there were several faces I did not recognise and they went after about a week so I can only assume they were on holiday or visiting friends in Birmingham.
I was on the second row and suddenly a young lady I was next to smacked the bottom of her friend in front.
She turned around I think suspecting me but realised it would have been difficult for me to have done it and then noticed her friend giggling away and realised it was her.
Several ladies saw the incident along with the instructor so there would have not been any problems. From that day I have done my best to get to the front in case I am not so lucky if it happens again.

Exactly Frank, it is to prevent such men 'getting into' these classes that women have the CHOICE to enter women only classes.

I must add that I would argue as fiercely for men only classes as I would for women only classes where there is an obvious need for either one or the other.

By the way, there was no hue and cry when 'Man in the Kitchen' classes were provided at our local evening class venue a couple of years ago even tho' they occupied a slot that could have been used by a mixed class.

You do not have to reply to this.

I think that you will get the odd man coming to a mixed keep fit class just to look at the women but I don't think they will stay very long.
During my time a few men have come and gone and in a couple of cases I have met them again in the leisure centre and they have decided to do something else.
They have said the bums and tums class has not suited them and I am sure women have joined and decided it was not for them.
I am therefore saying do not assume a man was there to oggle at the women just because he only went to the class 2 or 3 times.

I therefore do not think women have to worry about perverts getting into the class and if they do things like prodding or touching the women I am sure they will soon be excluded.

I think this lady's friends have realised that there is no legal way she could get the house and have given up.
Strangely enough I have not seen any of them since just after Christmas.
Oddly most of them were women.
