DD3's waters broke at 1am - she was 8cm when she last rang - so far just doing well on paracetamol. We are sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring!!

Lovely news. A big welcome to this world, Rosie.

Welcome Twiceasnice and lots of thanks for all the good wishes from everyone - I plan to go to bed now - I have expended a huge amount of emotional energy since 4 this morning and I want to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to meet little Rosie tomorrow.

I can now finish wrapping the lace shawl I have crocheted - it is wrapped in whte tissue and I have a blue ribbon and a pink ribbon to finish off the parcel - I just needed to wait and see which I should use!

I think my poor DD is going to be tired and sore and I hope we can be a support to her - though quite what practical help I will be on crutches I do not know - but I can certainly give her a cuddle!

TwiceAsNice welcome. Three sets of twins in my family, and my little grandson is one of several born this week.

Mishap will be walking on air now flowers

Warmest congratulations flowers and big hugs to you and your newest addition to the family. I can remember only too well the agony of waiting for DD to have both of hers - with DGS1 she went in mid afternoon and I didn't get "the" phone call until nearly 2 the next morning by which time I had imagined all things under the sun. DGS2 wasn't much better - I stayed with DGS1 whie DD and SIL wnt off to hospital around 6 ish and again I didn't get any news until after 1 the next morning. To be fair, she had had him before midnight but I think both of them (DD and SIL) needed time to rest. But if she has any more I shall demand a general anaesthetic (for me)!! grin So nice for you to have some good news you have a lot to cope with at the moment x

Mishap hope you are having a much needed deep sleep by now. Just a thought for tomorrow - you could copy this thread, which illustrates the joy Rosie's birth has brought to us all, and put it in her memories box for her to see in years to come. [roses]

I have this vision of all these ladies "of a certain age" around the nation pushing like crazy - it's very bad for your pelvic floors you know!!

Thank you so much for all your wonderful support - I was a wreck yesterday. A friend of mine had a very bad experience at the hospital where my DD is - her GC died through poor care (failure to notice foetal distress, a section done too late and bodged - her DD's bladder was sliced into) and this refused to stop going through my mind, even though I knew it was a very rare event. So....all your good wishes were hugely valued, believe me.

My DD has just phoned. She had the ventouse because the contractions, which had been fine all through first stage, suddenly stopped and baby had to be pulled out - I am so glad she was in the right place for this to happen. She is dying to come home, but the staff are wanting her to stay as baby is not really sucking - poor scrap is probably tired. DD feels that this problem can be dealt with at home with support of community midwife and Mum and sisters. We will see her later either in hospital or at home. She sounds fine, but is sore for sitting down.

The baby looks like me she says - with very dark hair and deep brown eyes - she and her OH were fair with blue eyes, now a bit darker. So, one for me!!!

I cannot wait to see her - I will try and get a photo to post - I think you all deserve that after all your puffing and panting on her behalf!!!

Look forward to seeing the photos of your double mishap smile I think when you are in hospital you are just desperate to get home. flowers
