Odd little habits anyone?

I think I've recently developed an odd little habit.

I like to suck a Locket (cough sweet) last thing at night, just before I put the light out and go to sleep.

If I wake up in the night, I have another one.

I find it very comforting, especially when I get to that bit where the hard outer shell collapses and the liquid centre leaks out.

It just occurred to me that it's a bit odd that it has to be a Locket (even though I don't have a sore throat).

Nothing wrong with chatting to the cats, I'm sure they love it. They may think you haven't noticed Rosie's gone though grin

Well I always say goodbye to this house- always have since we bought it but for most of the time we were only here a couple of months at a time- so before I locked the door and shutters I always said 'goodbye little house'. I only do when we are going away for a bit - see how odd and crazy I am!!

My father was usually so inebriated when he came in that if he could have bent over to follow his nose he would have fallen over grin I think mum was safe hiding it under there wink

I keep thinking that the steam would make the underneath of the matress damp - or the springs of the bedstead rusty! grin

Ana Thu 07-Feb-13 19:18:47

mattress!

kittylester Thu 07-Feb-13 19:21:11

And wouldn't your mum have been ravenous by the time she got up glass

glassortwo Thu 07-Feb-13 20:28:43

I will have to ask grin

Butty Thu 07-Feb-13 20:33:15

How is your Mum, glass?

DH always changes the loo rolls in our house. This is because he changes it when there is still a good half inch on the discarded roll! He must realise that it isn't actually finished as he doesn't put it in the bin but leaves it on the shelf. I then use it up.

He's been doing that for 38 years!!

Me? I'm perfect of course smile

Butty Fri 08-Feb-13 08:12:17

But, baubles, which way does he leave the next bit to be pulled off (whatever that's called)? Facing forwards or backwards?? grin

When I approach an advert on the side of a local bus shelter, which I know says 'hello, I'm Steve', I say 'Hello' to him! blush Fortunately I am usually in the car so nobody hears. I have no idea what is being advertised, so it is wasted on me.

Butty outwards, I won that battle! smile

Butty Fri 08-Feb-13 19:11:44

Me too - mostly!

Galen Fri 08-Feb-13 19:15:40

I have mine so it drapes at the front. You don't graze your knuckles grabbing it then!

kittylester Fri 08-Feb-13 19:19:13

Surely, it's obviously the correct way. confused

Ana Fri 08-Feb-13 19:30:15

Blimey, what's on your walls, Galen? confused

girlracer Fri 08-Feb-13 19:49:09

Here's an awful admission - I am nearly 62 and still suck my thumb! Helps me concentrate, you see! (blush)

girlracer Fri 08-Feb-13 19:50:25

I mean blush - that blooper is even more embarrassing than sucking my thumb!

Galen Fri 08-Feb-13 19:57:42

Tiles!
Kare my cleaner, Gary's wife always does it the other way! Drives me mad!
Gary says she does the same at home?

granjura Fri 08-Feb-13 20:32:51

girlracer - my mother tongue is French, but the second time I went out with my British boy friend (my husband of 42 years) I told him I still 'Sucked my thumb' but got my 's' and 'th = f' all wrong - him and family still laugh about it to this day! But I stopped a long time ago now, lol.
