Hi folks!

annodomini Tue 26-Feb-13 18:57:57

ga - you have had a heavy load recently. Do take care and don't get up until you are really better. Hope someone looks after you. brew
Kitty, definitely wine

harrigran Tue 26-Feb-13 18:46:45

ga and kitty flowers

Ella46 Tue 26-Feb-13 18:46:27

kitty and Ga flowers, hope you feel better soon Ga.

kitty, have a large wine, you deserve it.

kittylester Tue 26-Feb-13 18:39:55

Thank you all for the kind thoughts.

Marelli the problem is that the flipping care home don't care. Mum's friend is really just underlining my thoughts which just makes it difficult. If Mum wasn't at this stage of dementia, we'd move her but it might do more harm than good now. If we could only get hold of the consultant we might be able to ask his opinion. angry

ga hope you feel better soon. brew We have a brass belly lady (a woman in a crinoline) that is used for summoning 'staff' would you like to borrow it? grin

Marelli Tue 26-Feb-13 18:17:48

kitty, that sounds like an awful day that you've had. It's a true saying - it never rains, but it pours. I hope tomorrow will be a good one for you and that your mum's a bit better....and that you can put a flea in the ear of her friend. How dare she.
ga, keep cosy and roar downstairs for 'more care, please!' flowers

soop Tue 26-Feb-13 18:06:17

kitty and grannya flowers

grannyactivist Tue 26-Feb-13 17:27:22

Oh dear kitty - think you need a (((hug))). flowers
soop and Ariadne think you both need wine. wink

I spent the morning in bed feeling very grotty. Swollen glands, sore throat, poorly ears etc. - a gift from my grandson who came to stay last week. The Wonderful Man is away this week and left instructions to the others in the household to take care of me.........hmm so far I've been offered one cup of tea!

kittylester Tue 26-Feb-13 16:55:31

Glad to hear that the menfolk are on the mend. flowers for the womenfolk who are coping with them!

Had a really stressful and worrying day with Mum yesterday. sadangry

Today, as DS1's PA is away, I've been doing his cleaning confused I don't DO cleaning - I have a cleaner! Got a text from my brother telling me he spent the night in a hotel after a huge argument with his wife and then came home to a phone call from a friend of Mum's telling me that they visited today and she is not very well at all and nobody was concerned. angry

Time for wine or 3.

soop Tue 26-Feb-13 16:31:21

Ariadne I'm pleased to hear that Theseus is beginning to feel so much better.

I love being with our teenage grandchildren. Always amuses us that they seem to speak a different [oftimes more interesting] language than that which we're accoustomed to. wink

It is very spring-like again today. Rory is basking full-length in the sunshine. He's a very happy pussy cat. smile

Ariadne Tue 26-Feb-13 16:24:37

A cold, grey day here. Took Theseus down to the quay for a change of scenery - he is desperate to drive again. And it is nothing to do with the way I drive!

Livened up by DGC popping in while Mum got some work done at school - it's good to have a bit of teenage chatter. It happens a couple of times a week!

soop glad to hear Mr S is on the mend; fingers crossed for the plans. Xx

soop Tue 26-Feb-13 15:44:07

Another glorious day in Kintyre. sunshine

Have added four new photos [not in the right order] to my album. Photo of wee man playing with his tea set, has made my day. The Rory photos were taken last night. He is settling down very well since his op.

Mr soop feeling very much better. He's busy preparing the drawings of the wee hoos. Would like to apply for planning permission by the end of the week.

Well done kitty! We had our dining rom chairs recovered must admit they look superb was last year they are lovely ale duck egg colour now as dining room is blue room!

We transformed our estranged daughter bedroom into beauty /leisure room still call it Tor room sometimes!

kittylester Sun 24-Feb-13 16:45:35

Went to Ikea to look for shelves and various bits for the about to be refurbished playroom, which we are trying to call the sitting room. DH was adamant that we get the existing, really saggy, cat picked sofa recovered. Then we took the window seat cushions to be recovered, he nearly fainted and agreed a new sofa might be a better bet - just like I had said weeks ago. shock So we looked at those in Ikea too! grin

Did she enjoy the ballet - and did you ? I loved that production.

nanaej Sat 23-Feb-13 22:07:38

Took DGD1 (7yrs) to buy a new outfit and to see Sleeping Beauty (Matthew Bourne ballet) this afternoon back home for supper and now she is asleep upstairs after a game of Scrabble which she won!

Gally Sat 23-Feb-13 22:00:52

Still on GS sitting duty but have repaired to bed, in recovery position, with one ear listening out for trouble; only 3 hours until I can sign off shock

Ariadne Sat 23-Feb-13 21:20:03

Got home about 5.00, PJs on by 6.00, probably in bed by 10.00. Ooh, it's nice here!

Galen Sat 23-Feb-13 18:19:20

Helped at an archery drop in and try session. Lots of quite wee kids. I think they must all have been watching Brave.

Tegan Sat 23-Feb-13 17:54:56

Thanks glass.

harrigran Sat 23-Feb-13 17:52:16

I went out for lunch and managed beyond the airport but it was pretty hairy in places. The salt spreader was out and was creating slush on the main roads, salty spray was all over the car. By the time we had finished lunch the snow had stopped and it was fine travelling home.

glassortwo Sat 23-Feb-13 17:30:08

It is in parts tegan we are right out in the sticks and always get it bad, but DH has just come in and he said the main roads are fine and I dont think we are forecast anymore so I would think he will be fine tomorrow.

Tegan Sat 23-Feb-13 17:26:51

Is it really bad in Newcastle glass? The S.O. was travelling oop north tomorrow.

soop Sat 23-Feb-13 17:20:07

glass It's kind of you to ask. Mr soop seems more "with it" and moves around with ease. He is looking forward to a wee dram this evening. smile
We are more hopeful of succeeding with the plans for the wee hoos in the orchard. Applying for planning permission sometime soon. House on the market in early March. First steps always take time and much patience, as many GN's know from experience.
Take care in the snow. We've not any all winter.
