Please note this is not posted under the Religion and Sprituality threads - just a lighthearted look at my idea of hell.

Having to wear high heels all day. Having to return to the second form at school to do sewing with the terrifying Miss Royle. Having to eat tripe and onions. Being locked in a small room with HUNTERF expounding on his pet theories. Having a TV that showed only sport.

What's yours?

Wouldn't do if we were all the same would it?
I thought the point of this thread is to declare our personal idea of hell.

Package holidays are mine!

In fact I don't really like holidays much at all!

JustMe Sat 02-Mar-13 16:37:26

Oh, I just love holidays, in fact I would like to permanently be on holiday but then if it was permanent, it wouldn't really be a holiday would it, so I'm already talking nonsense!

Tripe.... oh nooooo, I was forced to eat that too as a child and can distinctly remember the texture let alone the taste!

Walking in dog mess.

Living with no water and electricity.

Loosing loved ones.

Having your home flood or catch fire. loosing your home.

G. Strings, High Heels and bras that don't fit.

Sport, having to take part at school.

Having a flight cancelled and 'living' in the airport, sleeping on the floor.

Being sea sick.

Hell for me was almost six months in skin Hospital with severe infected eczema. The itching was unbearable. I was done up from head to toe in dressings, but still managed to scratch through! Finger nails almost non existent! Would not wish it on my worst enemy!!

HildaW Sat 02-Mar-13 19:16:10

Oh dear gramps, sounds appalling. Do hope that was in the distant past and that you are much better now.

Ella46 Sat 02-Mar-13 19:21:40

Six months? Oh gramps that does indeed sound like hell flowers

Reminds me of 'The Singing Detective' gramps. It must have been a horrible experience.

harrigran Sat 02-Mar-13 19:52:15

gramps must have been dreadful. I have worked on skin wards and know how debilitating it can be.

My idea of hell is when my house is a mess and I dont want to clean it but have to live in it.

Daisyanswerdo Sat 02-Mar-13 23:10:50

Trying to find a space in a multistorey carpark on a wet day with a car full of squabbling children.

High heels to cancer - hell comes at many levels doesn't it?

Grannyknot Sun 03-Mar-13 08:19:20

I thought that too, nfk and it gives some perspective. flowers ariadne, gramps, matson flowers.

Jadey - "My idea of hell is when my house is a mess and I dont want to clean it but have to live in it."

No - that's my idea of everyday life...!

Sitting in a theatre/cinema surrounded by people with the lights shining from their bloomin' phones. I feel like asking them to leave if that's all they want to do! It's happening more and more and you can see the lights even from the other side of the theatre/cinema. Grrr.

annodomini Sun 03-Mar-13 13:17:44

Are they the same ones with rustling packets of crisps and that awful smelly popcorn, Tegan? (apologies to any devotees of popcorn)

Maniac Sun 03-Mar-13 20:02:32

Not having a bed to sleep in.
and being forced to stand amid a large crowd at a rock concert.

Tegan Sun 03-Mar-13 21:04:55

Thankfully our cinema doesn't allow popcorn. But they can't stop the phones sad.

Heathrow Terminal 3 Arrivals on a Sunday evening. Just got back from picking up DD2 from New York.

Watching live footage of countless Syrian refugees seeking the basic comforts that we take very much for granted.

soop Wed 06-Mar-13 11:37:17

...and not knowing how to make a REAL difference to their plight.

gulligranny Wed 06-Mar-13 14:10:09

Being without a book.
Having to go to work (being retired is heaven!)

Flowerofthewest Wed 06-Mar-13 15:05:37

Never being able to go to the Outer Hebrides for a holiday or Skomer Island again as a volunteer. ( have had to cancel the volunteering due to illness the past two years)

Having to go through my husband having a cardiac arrest followed by pneumonia again. It was living hell but at least he lived and is home after 6 weeks in ICU

My all time favourite band Runrig retiring.

Never being able to go to a live gig again

Flowerofthewest Wed 06-Mar-13 15:06:42

Add on .... from experience - Being stuck at the back of a crowded coach from Bridgend to Heathrow next to a full and overflowing toilet, Absolutely horrific
