What I did today! The next chapter!

One of those days today! I was trying to get packed for my hospital stay, tidy up the house. I did a woollen wash and put stuff out on the line. I was aiming to get out in time for lunch with my knitting group friends.

I then started to clean the E bay high chair DD bought for use here. Not a good idea! If you put a tap on, make sure the plug is out of the sink. Don’t go off and do something else!

So I rushed back into the flood, upstairs to the airing cupboard, got out the “doggy towels” to mop up. I cleared up, whilst paddling about in the room in wet slippers, socks and trouser bottoms. The tap had over flowed across the work surface into the cupboard underneath. This soaked a box of washing powder, which is now in the shed drying out. The box will need re-gluing.
There is moral here somewhere.

During this crisis I was talking on the phone to SIL who rang to wish me well in hospital.

I have now girded up my loins for parathyroid surgery tomorrow.
Due to go in at 8am beds permitting with hopefully just an overnight stay. I have no idea how I will feel afterwards.
Probably come home with a bolt through my neck! grin

Very happily my lovely DD is coming over on Saturday to cook me a meal and administer TLC, her suggestion, knowing that her father is as much use as a chocolate fireguard at such times. Its very useful having a nurse in the family she was so lovely today, and I will see DGS. smile

Oh, how lovely, glass. I would have been weeping with pride. Well done, your grandson - smashing photo smile

Glass that's a great photo - and it's lovely that you're so involved in your grandchildren's lives. Bet you were glowing with pride. grin
My daughter has been brilliant at including me in her three year old's activities and I know will do the same for the little one. She's very sad for her nephew and nieces who don't have me in their lives, so makes a very special effort to include me in her own children's - and I relish it! smile

kittylester Fri 29-Mar-13 12:47:13

I've just uploaded a couple of photos - one of big boy Bertie and one of Persie showing her hair. We are all amazed as 'our' babies are usually blond and baldish confused

They are number 3 and 4 on my profile (that's confusing too) I promise to stop now!!

whenim64 Fri 29-Mar-13 12:52:35

I've just come back from DDs to collect the meat for cooking which we will be having on Sunday, once again glamma doing the honours when it comes to catering for the family,I thought I would be very good and walk down to her house and leave the car at home all part of my "body magic" regeme great getting there only took me about 15mins brisk walk, what I had not realised was that she had bought a massive leg of pork and a leg of lamb and frozen them both so I had to get the bus back shock mr.glamma was out for his afternoon consitutional at the pub so here I am back with two massive lumps of meat and arms down to my ankles after carrying them from the bus stop.grin never again.

kittylester Fri 29-Mar-13 15:56:35

Don't think he's taken much notice of her yet Ga but the dog thinks she's fascinating. shock

Just been to collect my new glasses – two pairs: one for distance vision, e.g. when driving. On the way home all the road signs looked new, so I guess I needed them!

oo-er, lovely pics kitty.
still packing up office, another 9 boxes got from Waitrose. Just went for a lovely walk. Had to screw resolve to the sticking place but fine once moving and was rewarded with the sight of a gold crest. Tiny little thing and they are not at all concerned if you stand near them and stare as they search for things to eat in the bushes. grin Concerned that there is not much out there for those tiny insect eating birds though.

Soop, Torbin is GORGEOUS! And those snow drifts look a bit daunting.

Audreyab Sat 30-Mar-13 17:24:29

For some reason today feels like two days, I was awaken buy the noise of a mouse scurrying along the floor, we live close to a river canal and just had some workmen in that kept leaving our door open and obviously a mouse has taken advantage of that. I am not too keen on them so first thing was off to the shops to buy some sticky boards to catch the rotter.

Not too good an atmosphere at home today, bad feelings due to a disagreement with our youngest son. DH and I have different opinions of our son being responsible!

Oh well new day tomorrow sad smile

kittylester Sat 30-Mar-13 17:26:51
