Tea questions time

The makers of Yorkshire tea make a variety especially for hard water. Goodness knows why it's in the stores around here!

Sleepy time tea without milk (Waitrose) is lovely when you can't sleep.

For quickness Yorkshire Gold for hard water.
For best - Assam leaf tea.

I like it strong and often, in a double sized china mug!

PG or Yorkshire tea bags, china mug, very little milk, no sugar. Hate tea from a thick mug. No idea why.

I've recently discovered for myself the Pukka teas mentioned by Gally and Maniac and have absolutely loved the ones I've had. My favourite is the 'detox' fennel and aniseed one - it really delivers a fantastic taste. This morning I found a friend had left me a box of their tea assortment. The ginger is very nice and I'm now going to try the Three Tulsi tea.

Always get M&S Gold loose tea - don't like teabags.

I used to drink Dr Stewart's Tranquillity tea at night, but I'm such a good sleeper that I decided I didn't need it and to just stick to redbush.

I drink chamomile in the evening and find that it is,indeed, quite calming! Builders tea in the day, but sometimes I don't get away with it, as best friend thinks that proper tea is akin to drinking poison! She thinks Earl Grey is quite naughty.

Three Tulsi tea from Pukka delicious - always have one in the afternoon. I've just got some Rose, Chamomile and Lavender flower tea from them called Love (hope it works!). In the morning I have Green Jasmine tea. I just chuck a tea bag in the mug - couldn't be doing with cups and saucers I used to drink builder's tea with milk but gave it up completely after starting the 5:2 regime.

Steradent takes the 'top' off the china - as it does with dentures. Toothpaste might work

Soil from the garden also removes tea stains, although I do use the bleach method..............no garden.

My favourite: Lemongrass tea, in a wide lipped cup. Loose leaf steeped in my little green pot - afternoons only.

Always leaf tea, made in a pot. Assam or Ceylon for breakfast, Yunnan in the afternoon. Milk, no sugar and Penguin book mugs.

Microfibre sponge works every time.

I sometimes use an oxygen powder. Most supermarkets have their own brands but probably Vanish is the leading brand.

Or a gentle scrub with a non-scratch sponge - the sort that is OK to use on non-stick cookware.

Although they have been through the D/W 1st , so perhaps that loosens the stains ?

Envious , great minds and all that , that is exactly what I do , when mugs get stained .

I find though 30mins. is ample .

Steradent (or Polygrip make a similar thing)

And if you have a hairbrush that looks grotty between the bristles, where it is difficult to clean, put that in a jamjar of steradent/polygrip water overnight - looks like new in the morning.

Lujaha,how about bleach with water. Let sit overnight.

Yorkshire or Tetley. Strong with skimmed milk and one sugar in a porcelain mug. Anyone know how to get the resulting stains off the mug. I have tried Vim, Sterilising fluid, and brillo. No luck.

If I lived on my own, Id be very economical with my teabags, I like my tea very weak, so one bag would probably last me all day!

I love tea.I cannot function until Ive consumed three mugs of the stuff every morning.The tea I like is QT., a powdery substance which is ideal for making in a flask, but I can drink it anywhere.Then I add two teaspoonsful of dried skimmed milk(cholestrol friendly), and a teaspoonful of honey.Lovely. And so comforting.I absolutely hate teabags.However, my daughter says my blend of brew is disgusting! Ah, well; one mans meat is another mans poison, so the saying goes......Where is the apostrophe on this keyboard?????????
