I think he'll make a good King. He might have some eccentric opinions but you can't please all of the people all of the time. He is not afraid to show that he has a sense of humour - often self deprecating and unlike the Queen, gives interviews and actively supports causes that interest him.

My basic point on this subject was made in my post of 20.56 and I think I'll leave it there.

Charlie has not had to worry at all about exam results, qualifications, job interviews, making ends meet, pension funds etc etc. that most other 'ordinary ' people do.

Seems a bit thoughtless of him to be commenting on youngsters who wish they could wake up to discover they had a totally financially secure future without having to work hard for it!

I agree that people born 70's onwards were more used to expecting to 'get' things more immediately and young people today see celebrity promoted so much that some think this is what to aspire to but I think most youngsters work hard and know that it is a competitive world !

I wish someone would define what constitutes a good king. When they have done so we might be able to decide whether this rather dumb, bad tempered and tetchy, but extremely arrogant man fits the bill - the chances are that he probably does.

The queen is not only Queen on the UK but also constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states, the commonwealth realms, and head of the 54 nations that make up the Commonwealth of Nations. Are we really so ignorant about our sovereign?
On the original note, Charles and Camilla are long term friends and "soul mates" and I'm sure would have married if they'd been allowed to in the first place. Things are very different in today's world and I for one am very glad they were finally allowed to be together. I know what it's like to have been in an unhappy marriage.
People, encouraged by certain newspapers, have been very unkind about Camilla. She can't help not being a pin up or glamour puss, we are what we are. Are we so shallow that looks are what matter most in a wife? Pathetic.

And as for Charles, he is by no means what you assume, absent. People who know him find him to be very much otherwise. I am appalled by the ignorance displayed by some people, and their unkind thoughts and utterances.

And I am appalled by some of Charles's "utterances". I don't know him personally. Who knows, maybe I'd like him? But I don't like his public persona.

Camilla's public persona, which is also all I know about her, seems pleasant enough. I'm not particularly interested in her. I'm also glad that Charles and she married in the end and think it's a great shame they couldn't get married earlier in their lives.

So who's for changing the constitutional law that prevented their early marriage? Hands up.

I think Charles is charming. He was a very sweet little boy. Anne was a pretty, but slightly naughty, little girl.

What constitutional law prevented their early marriage? Charles dithered and Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles. OK, she wasn't the blushing virgin they wanted for him but he could have persisted.

cant stand either of them so the less we see the better, its a pity he didnt leave the country and take her with him, Diana she will never match up to!!
