Not sure I would How do people think of these weird things?

Wonder if it could be classed as religious. Or not?

Nanaej I don't possess 17 pairs of pants. Do you?

Galen Fri 14-Jun-13 14:08:01

Yip, that's the one! It got defaced by some vandals! (The blue paint)

j08 Fri 14-Jun-13 13:31:27

naughty man - what's he been up to?

nanaej Fri 14-Jun-13 13:28:59

J08 I agree the subject matter is not my particular cup of tea but it is at least an interesting discussion point.grin

Galen Fri 14-Jun-13 13:27:22

Yes he did jingle, and why have a painting of the ship when we have the real think. Restored and in the dock in which she was built.
My favourite Banksy was in park st of a man hanging by his fingertips naked out of a window!

A pair for every day plus a couple of spares for when you may shower during the day and want to put clean knickers on! or if you are my DH not enough for every day so he is forever rinsing pants in the sink and hanging them up to dry in the bathroom.. poor chambermaids blush

Only you know that Galen. #tenalady

OR - something historical about the city. Isambard Kingdom Brunel and his bridge. Or the SS Great Britain. ( think he built that)

Galen Fri 14-Jun-13 13:22:08

Thinking of loin cloths, do you think 7 pairs of knickers will be enough to pack?

Galen Fri 14-Jun-13 13:21:07

Tutankhamen's loin cloths were found in his tomb. They were vast! He must have had very large hips.

j08 Fri 14-Jun-13 13:19:38

I would prefer a few flowers. Or a nice river scene. smile

nanaej Fri 14-Jun-13 13:15:10

I'm not a loin cloth expert but did not realise they had a nappy bit underneath..thought they were worn commando style like kilts!

In answer to OP I would not object but could see if it was all I could see when I opened my curtains in the morning I might think differently. if it is in a public and non-residential space then it is pubic art and I like the concept even if I don't always like the pieces!

petallus Fri 14-Jun-13 13:00:04

It doesn't appeal to me much. Poor Jesus! He is usually shown pinned to a cross, now as an alternative he is in this uncomfortable position with his loin cloth looking as though it is about to come undone.

Ana Fri 14-Jun-13 12:28:14

However, I accept that you only meant that you yourself can see no reason to object to the wall painting.

Ana Fri 14-Jun-13 12:25:08

Simply because your answer was 'Why not?', Greatnan.

Greatnan Fri 14-Jun-13 12:20:32

Ana - I answered the question - I am not sure why you thought I should have added my opinion about what other people might think.

j08 Thu 13-Jun-13 21:24:11

Why are all the threads on Gransnet getting so confusing?

What has ana agreed/not agreed with? What does jess wish for?

Break dancing is getting a bit passe isn't it? I think even my grandson might be growing out of it.

Bags Thu 13-Jun-13 20:48:53

Does art need a 'point'?

Galen Thu 13-Jun-13 20:36:43

Don't like it! Doesn't upset me!
Just can't see what the point of it is?

Ana Thu 13-Jun-13 20:30:11

Hello again, bluebell - feel free to have a go, it seems to be open season at the moment! smile

bluebell Thu 13-Jun-13 20:18:54

JO says not sure, Bags says no and Greatnan says why not and Ana reacts to...????

Elegran Thu 13-Jun-13 20:10:57

That wasn't the question, though, Ana. It was "Would you . . . .?" not "Would anyone else . . . .?"

Ana Thu 13-Jun-13 20:05:45

Perhaps you, personally, wouldn't mind, Greatnan. But surely you can understand why some people would?

Greatnan Thu 13-Jun-13 19:51:12

In answer to the OP - why not?

JessM Thu 13-Jun-13 19:27:16

I wish.
