Well, I'm back home again, having had "drop bot" surgery in Glasgow's Southern General hospital, and I wish to say thank you.

The staff on ward 3 were simply the best. The surgeon, Mr Graham Sunderland, couldn't have done a better job of fixing what has been a right "bummer" for some considerable time. I was treated with compassion and met some amazing patients with very serious health issues. Yet, they often managed to make light of such matters.

Thank you dear Bags for travelling some distance to visit me...the first time I met her she visited me after hip surgery. She thoughtfully brought along a picnic basket full of goodies...different types of tea, buttery biscuits and homemade flapjacks, juice, dark chocolate and a book that I've almost finished reading. Her company lifted my spirits sky high. A beautiful card and welcome home message from Bags and Gransnet friends, has just this minute been delivered. flowers

Thank you for many kind messages. Harrigran thanks for the super cat coaster, I shall use it every day. Most appropriate! grin

Mr soop is taking good care of me. Rory gave me a right warm welcome. Tail up...purrs and much dribbling....Rory, not Mr soop! wink

I'm about to catch up with the laundry. Back later. [Sunshine]

The irrepressible soop smile flowers

Lost my way coming out of the hospital grounds (how do I manage to always take the wrong turning?). Anyway, stopping twice to ask ever-friendly Glaswegians the way got me on the right road eventually and it was a straightforward drive home after that.

It was lovely to see you so chirpy so soon after surgery, soop, and to meet your ward friends.

soop Fri 21-Jun-13 14:37:49

smile smile smile for you all.

Bags You took the wrong turning? Join the Mr soop band of merry wanderers. The book is marvellous. There is a little of each of us in Elizabeth.

As an Englishwoman surrounded by hearty Glaswegians, I missed some of the merry banter on ward 3. However, the expression on patients' faces made me laugh along with the crowd. The Scots are very special. grin

Welcome home soop, take it easy and enjoy being fussed over. Having had 'bot' problems myself, I can empathise, hope you are not too sore. flowers

annodomini Fri 21-Jun-13 17:33:49

Take it easy soop. The antibiotic can take as much out of you as the bug does. x

Good to have you back among us Soop xx

GillieB Fri 21-Jun-13 18:30:30

Soop - I am afraid I missed that you were having a procedure in hospital - glad to hear that it went well and that you are now back home. I hope the ABs work quickly and that you will soon be feeling up to the mark.

Take care - and no laundry!

mrshat Fri 21-Jun-13 19:58:26

Pleased you are home soop - make haste slowly, as they say. Antibiotics can make you feel very tired, so those, along with the anesthetic for the 'bot op' mean you will need to rest well. Feet up, forget laundry and all other unnecessary activity, just concentrate on getting back to 100%! flowers

j08 Fri 21-Jun-13 21:07:26

Glad you are home soop and that that is over and done with. smile flowers
