We are both beyond the pale Anno that's my social pretensions up the spout. wink

Ella46 Thu 11-Jul-13 19:55:52

Nellie I bet you're really worried...................not! grin

annsixty Thu 11-Jul-13 19:56:07

We in Stockport look in envy at Poynton, don,t know where that places me compared to the Triangle, very low down I think!!!

Stansgran Thu 11-Jul-13 20:45:45

Lovely day here but I thought you were talking about the rhubarb triangle.

whenim64 Thu 11-Jul-13 21:19:40

Stansgran good point! Timperley is just a mile down the road from me, so maybe it qualifies for the rhubarb triangle, too! grin Aldi champagne and Timperley Early rhubarb. Great stuff! grin

annodomini Thu 11-Jul-13 21:32:40

There's Stockport and then again there's Stockport, annsixty. Did I go up or down in the world when I moved out of Bramhall. grin

Sook Thu 11-Jul-13 22:26:11

Nelliemoser Thu 11-Jul-13 23:12:23

Gosh! If I am to be part of the Cheshire set I will have to go and get myself some posh frocks.
I just hope no on minds that my postcode is a Stoke on Trent one. blush blush
I am in Cheshire East like Wilmslow is honest! wink

whenim64 Thu 11-Jul-13 23:33:15

The Cheshire Set, eh? I think I'm a mile or so adrift to qualify! grin

annsixty Fri 12-Jul-13 06:45:07

I would think anno that was probably a sideways move.Although you are still in Cheshire. Bramhall, like us had to "downgrade".

Nelliemoser Fri 12-Jul-13 07:24:19

Good morning all! Other early risers. WhenI'm* Was where you live ever part of Cheshire? When I was working we spent a lot of time people convincing people that Sale & "Stockport Cheshire" was not still us. In the late 1800s the Cheshire border went right up to the river Mersey

If you cant claim that you will just have to move! wink

Stansgran Fri 12-Jul-13 07:44:13

Lovely morning here in Durham. Speckly thrush has hit the window and is no more. Such a pretty bird too. Packing for hols today.

Sewsilver Fri 12-Jul-13 07:52:57

I grew up in Bramhall, does that make me nearly part of the Cheshire set? I remember my father's horror at the downgrading of Bramhall! not sure that apostrophe in the right place but have been up most of night with DH and am fuzzy brained.

whenim64 Fri 12-Jul-13 07:56:31

Nellie yes, you're right. The boundary has moved up and down over the years. I'm one of those 'lucky' residents who has two post codes - one is Altrincham, Cheshire and the other is Baguley, Manchester. I get some suspicious looks when my address and post code don't match on computers, and I say 'try this postcode, instead.' hmm

Nelliemoser Fri 12-Jul-13 07:59:23

It was once Cheshire Sewsilver you are in! wink Take care of yourself. flowers

Ella46 Fri 12-Jul-13 08:08:23

My Cheshire route was Cheadle Hulme, 10 yrs, Bramhall 10 yrs, Tytherington 2 weeks!, Timperley 4 months, then Wilmslow 21 yrs.
I'm really a Manchester girl, born in Levenshulme!

whenim64 Fri 12-Jul-13 08:34:23

Hi Sewsilver. Good to see you on here. I hope you are ok smile

Nelliemoser Fri 12-Jul-13 08:42:02

I have lived here for 26yrs come August. I came here via Leicester 3?4yrs. Northamptonshire, 4yrs. Bristol, 10yrs, odd other places for about 8yrs Ilford. 12yrs.

I have ancestors in the Chester area proven from the early 1700s until about 1840 when they caught the train to Liverpool. I have lived here for longer than anywhere else.

annodomini Fri 12-Jul-13 09:12:02

I see it's still Thursday - no wonder I feel confused. hmm

Atqui Fri 12-Jul-13 09:40:06

What is this champagne triangle please?

whenim64 Fri 12-Jul-13 10:10:08

It's the area around Wilmslow, Alderly Edge and Prestbury where there are more millionaires and Rolls Royces than anywhere except London. There are a lot of highly-paid TV celebs and footballers (Manchester United and City), whose WAGS enjoy the champagne lifestyle. grin
