When I was coming back from the park a woman's car would not start in front of mine.
I parked my car at the side of the road, got out and started pushing her car round the corner.
The 2 women drivers behind just kept on blowing their horn.
Did they not think if they got out and helped we could have got the obstruction cleared quicker? as I was pushing the car up hill.

confused

61 is 2011 registration, absent

absent Wed 24-Jul-13 20:53:40

Frank If the registration was 1961, the car can hardly be called modern.

Nonu

Andie and myself enjoyed our tea.
I wanted another one when I got in after pushing that car.

Very wise Frank , be dignified , you know you are the too carry that off with aplomb.

A nice smile for you .

Thanks, jings.

Frank, you have just proved my theory about you.

I am still getting the odd person come up to me saying that the house is not mine and I should get out and give it to my father's ex's family.
I would have thought they would realised it is like trying to get blood out of a stone.
Dad has been dead for nearly 18 months and the estate was wound up nearly a year ago.
A few of the nuisance people have now passed away.
Probably I should have gone and demanded a share of her estate from her relatives but I would be lowering myself to their level.

Oh Frank , never thought of that , but I can most definitely see where you are coming from.

There and we thought we had seen the back of them.!!!!!!!

sad for you

Yes, that'll be it, Frank! Your life is certainly full of coincidences, isn't it...confused

They could also be friends of my father's ex who I refused to give the house to when Dad died.

here you are Bags.

Men all have this knowledge in them from birth. That's not sexist. It's fact. (hmm)

gracesmum Wed 24-Jul-13 14:20:33

It is also posible that the two "hooting" ladies were refugees from the women's only gym classes and recognised you as the man who invaded their girly world?

Really I wanted to get the traffic moving and stop her panicking.
I only looked to see if there was anything obvious wrong but I don't know a lot about modern cars.
As the car was covered by the RAC and they said they would be along in about 20 minutes I asked if she was happy to wait by herself.
In view of the conditions I gave her a bottle of water and then left.

Frank is a perfect gentleman helping a lady/fellow motorist in distress.

Sutton Coldfield has a 'posh' reputation. Some fantastic properties and some not so. I don't live there but quite near. My daughter and grand-daughter were both born in Sutton as it's our nearest hospital. My GD goes to school in Sutton. We are far from posh !

There, there Bags just go and lie down in a darkened room until your devastation is soothed. Frank how could you upset Bags like this?

gillybob Wed 24-Jul-13 12:45:08

Recently I was just about to enter a roundabout when an Asda van passed me. The side doors flew open and the contents of the van spilled out all over the road. The driver obviously hadn't secured the doors properly and he took the roundabout a bit too fast. The cars behind me started hooting and feeling a bit sorry for the Asda driver I got out of my car and helped him pick everything up. Miserable (men) in the cars behind couldnt see the funny side and just sat there hooting while me and this young guy chased apples and tins of beans up the road! grin

No Ariadne SC is not particularly posh, plenty of ordinary housing there. However, the bit near the mast, which is actually called Four Oaks, is quite posh.

Bags Wed 24-Jul-13 12:30:23

He doesn't always reply to my questions, butty! I can't tell you how devastating it is sad

Aka Wed 24-Jul-13 12:19:50

I definitely thinking they were blowing their horns in admiration and to urge you on grin

Butty Wed 24-Jul-13 12:19:04

If Frank comes back with a comprehensive answer, B, then that will show his love of numbers........hmm

Frank You're very specific about numbers aren't you?

Ariadne Wed 24-Jul-13 12:17:57

Oh, is that place - Sutton Coldfield - posh? All I've ever hear of it until recently was that there was some sort of TV transmitter there.

Bags Wed 24-Jul-13 12:11:25

Indeed not, Frank.

How does one tell how old a car is nowadays, apart from rust and moss growing on it and stuff like that? I mean, from number plates? I lost track of how to do it when they changed the format.
