You must have to stand beside it with a spoon in your hand while it defrosts and eat it at the very second the ice crystals melt. I don't think you will be buying that again.
Trying to find a present for 1 year old great nephew. Failed in John Lewis; braved the hell that is ToysRus. No luck. What's the betting I find what I want just down the road at the local toyshop?
Anno My DD has suggested DGS might like a toy with turning cogs on or a shape sorting toy, she has seen babies at a baby group enjoy them. DGS is one at the end of the month.
anno I bought my then 1 year old DGS Duplo for a birthday gift I have added to their collections since, they seem to enjoy playing with it (as both their daddies before them did)
This little boy has a big brother, almost 4, with a plethora of toys and it's difficult to find something that isn't already in their house. I was looking for a Brio stacking toy that I'd seen on the JL online catalogue but it wasn't there in the local store. ToysRUs looked at me as if I had two heads when I asked about Brio! I am going north on Wednesday and need something that will fit in my luggage, though there may be a toyshop in Dundee.
Ah! having an older sibling does make present buying more difficult. Mine were 20 months apart and one of each gender which helps a bit but #2 tends to get the older childs' out grown everything.
Enjoyed a funny couple of hours at the Leisure Centre where DGD, her little sister and 9 friends enjoyed a 'cheerleader' birthday party followed by tea at the cafe!
Penstemmon, that's just like one we had 42 years ago. Good design wears well! Cheerleader party sounds fun. My GD, who is 11 in a couple of weeks is going to have a swimming pool party. I think she wants to show off what a very good swimmer she is. And how good she looks in a bikini...
Anno why not just order the Brio toy online from JL? If you don't want to have it delivered to your house for any reason you can pick it up from the store. I love Brio toys - we still have the ones our children have and I've bought others for the DGCs.
Shooting arrows, then replacing all the items into the kitchen cupboards that had to be emptied to fit the new work tops! Still haven't found where my salt and pepper mills are and why have I now got a half empty cupboard? [exhausted] emoticon.
Off to Exeter later to meet Grannylin and look at a place for our meet up. We shall have to have lunch (sigh..) Hope it is OK!
Meanwhile, Theseus insists it is still late summer, and therefore he must wear shorts and a short sleeved shirt. Me - I was thinking of sneaking the thermostat up a notch or two....
Try under the sink @Galen. Managed to get DH a GP appointment after 20 minutes continuous redialling. Why the practice won't manage a queuing system but makes you ring off and redial is beyond me. I've googled DH's symptoms and it sounds like acute sarcoidosis which is as rare as hens teeth so very unlikely to be what he's got but it is all very strange and he doesn't get poorly. Actually they had run out of appointments but the GP rang back and said he hadn't a clue and to go in to see him.anyone else remember the golden days when GPs popped round to see how you were and they stopped seeing patients when the waiting room was empty. Now there are more doctors than patients at the surgery and more white coated people drinking coffee behind the filing cabinets looking at the ringing phone as they natter. Rant over
I think it's time the socks and boots came out my feet are freezing, I have been sitting sewing 7 Beaver badges onto DGS Beaver sweatshirt...... Now I know what "don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today" I put the badges aside at the start of the holidays to do over the six weeks and woke up this morning worrying that Beavers start tonight.
I'm sitting here hoping that the phone will ring, but it hasn't so far. Oh well, I think I'll walk to the village shop and but a newspaper, then I can tackle the crossword.
