Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

Sorry to hear that, gally. Here's wishing her a speedy and full recovery flowers

Gally Mon 07-Oct-13 10:59:45

I need a strong cup of something and a sit down. Just spoken to DD2 in Oz. she has had an accident - tripped over a skate board, chipped 2 teeth and cut her lip/chin very badly necessitating an hour in theatre with a plastic surgeon. Just seen a photo and feel very wobbly. She is so cross with herself and wishes it had been any other part of her body than her beautiful face sad

Well, bags and all you lot if it had been possible to fit you into our wee hoos, sit you down and pamper you to bits, I surely would have. smile
Lona Yay for 'Pepper Pig'. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the birthday party.
Aggie, our friendly decorator, is busy steam-stripping the old wallpaper. Rory is sitting well out of the way in the utility room. He seems quite settled. Aggie is familiar with our home. He was one of the building team...all of ten years ago.
Kettle is on the boil. Tea/coffee/crunchy thingies and Scottish shortbread in abundance. Just take care not to trip over the dust sheets. I suppose we could all sit outside on the terrace. Isn't it warm for the time of the year? Aggie asked if we could open the windows wide and put the heating off. But it hasn't been on since last Thursday. sunshine

soop, lovely to read about your guddle! Wish I'd been there. flowers

Lona Sun 06-Oct-13 17:45:30

Just popped in for a quick cuppa after my dgd's second birthday party. I must admit to too much delicious cake (made by my son), and some red wine, which has made me thirsty!

Dgd has had a great time opening pressies and yelling 'Peppa Pig' at the top of her voice. smile

Never a truer word has been uttered, Lona We were awake at the crack of dawn - seemed very much earlier, and we worked very hard to make the wee hoos presentable. Honest to goodness, by the time the last couple staggered to their home [next door] the sitting room and kitchen were in total disarray. By which time, I couldn't have cared less. Hearing the merry chatter and laughter of our guests, was all I wished for. Even Rory put in an appearance. I slept like a proverbial log last night. Managed to stay wide awake through Montalbano wink xx

Lona Sun 06-Oct-13 13:44:59

soop grin You know it was a success when there's plenty of "guddle"!

Glad you enjoyed yourself xx

Ta Dah! Hic! Oolala! Hello to you lovely lot Is it really Sunday? Morning or afternoon? Did I really count five empty bottles of Champagne? One Sapphire Gin? One of the finest Malt and half full empty bottle of Brandy. Tell me straight, did we have a humdinger of a party? Did the wee hoos rock? Goodie gum drops and all that...now then, what shall we do? I know, let's have a lovely large mug of coffee and one of those crunchy thingies that bags cooked last week. It really is good to discover that the kitchen and bathroom are spotless. A good many hours ago, it was a different story. Hey ho...as bags would say. The guddle was evidence of a good time had by all. grin

Stupid phone - and now I want an edit button!

Please read 'sure to be spotlessly clean' in place of the rubbish above! blush

kittylester Sun 06-Oct-13 08:15:44

It's always nice to have a good loo stop, isn't it, biker and these are sure to hr so:spotlessly clean!

I've called in to gird my loins before an onslaught of visitors. Thank you to whoever made my cauli cheese for me - that's a huge help. Sorry, the curry all got eaten but if you pop over to our house you can enjoy the smell - or not! grin

Lovely tea and toast - off to open some windows!

Good morning to all in Soop's ever expanding kitchen. Me too for a brew. I have just wasted about an hour trying to post on GN from my tablet it froze and I lost it. So I am VERY CROSS. I woke up far too early and I am tired already. I will sit here in my cosy dressing gown and be a slob. Well 7:40 on a Sunday is a bit early to call myself a slob. Another brew and breakfast needed.

thatbags Sun 06-Oct-13 07:20:10

Oh good! I'm ready for that. I've already cleaned the downstairs loo and wiped out the freezer that was defrosting yesterday. [slurp] [munch] Aaand relax smile

Gally Sun 06-Oct-13 07:04:56

Cheers Bags! brew and [toast]

thatbags Sun 06-Oct-13 06:59:31

Morning, gally. I'll join you for a cup of tea if I may. brew

Gally Sun 06-Oct-13 06:57:45

I am up early , for a Sunday, so have crept in very quietly and boiled the kettle ready for a cup of tea. I expect the soops will need one after partying yesterday. Haven't been here for a while - very occupied with decluttering and gardening, depending on the weather. That Rory is nowhere to be seen - bet he's snuggled up on the end of the bed wink

Hebs Sat 05-Oct-13 23:08:36

OOH I have made that before, always out of demijohns, to many to bottle, wish I had some now wine

Aka Sat 05-Oct-13 23:01:42

I've just followed you in Hedridean never ventured in before either, but heard there was a celebration taking place and I've just opened a demi-john of last year's elderberry plonk wine. It's very rough vigorous, with hints of elderberries. I've only had one glass and that was enough so there should be plenty everyone who wishes to imbibe. Ignore the label of 'Red Falling Down Juice' that's my son's idea of a joke hmm

Hebs Sat 05-Oct-13 22:33:17

I have never been in your kitchen before, it seems very rude of me to turn up at 10.30 on a Saturday night. I wish you and your husband all the happiness in the world. Cheers wine
