Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

The new sofa is to replace the heavy sofa and clumpy chair. Just in case you thought it was to be additional. In which case, there would be no room for people and a cat. hmm

Lona Sun 08-Sept-13 12:45:10

Ooh yes please...........plum jam on a fresh scone with cream is my idea of heaven (well....almost!)
I've just changed the bedding and put a wash load outside to blow in the sunshine, so I'm ready for a coffee too smile

I've brought some smoked salmon and cucumber and a freshly baked crusty cob, if anyone fancies a sandwich......

soop Sun 08-Sept-13 12:57:38

Thanks, Lona, I shall join you the salmon and cucumber freshly baked cob. Looks delicious. smile

annodomini Sun 08-Sept-13 13:07:56

Mouth-watering, Lona - just my idea of lunch - yum!

Lona Sun 08-Sept-13 13:12:12

How about a nice chilled glass of Chablis to go with that?
Well, it is Sunday lunch time grin.......plenty of other types of wine in the cellar soop didn't know she had a cellar

glassortwo Sun 08-Sept-13 13:13:08

Oh I love your kitchen soop first time I have had chance to visit. smile

Lona Sun 08-Sept-13 13:20:01

glass How lucky that we've just opened a bottle then wink

glassortwo Sun 08-Sept-13 13:24:25

Thanks Lona grin good timing.

Did someone mention a smoked salmon sandwich, maybe just a little one with a glass of wine. DH is preparing a tuna salad for lunch I wonder if I've got time for a chat with Bez about lifestyle decisions which we probably share.

Had to abandon the supper cooking cos the Asda man came. MrBags took over and added the bit in brackets so it's an interesting eastern mix: stir fried pork with Chinese soy sauce (and some leftover Indain Korma), stir fried shredded cabbage and chopped courgette both grown a couple of fields away, and a few Asda mushrooms flung in towards the end. Plenty for all. I brought chop sticks and forks. Dig in with your preferred implement.

Soop, you mentioned a while ago that Mr. Soop was going to have to part with his beloved piano, did he, or will he be able to keep it now?

betsysgran Sun 08-Sept-13 18:13:04

Is all the Chablis gone? Ho hum missed out yet again, think I'll just open a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Anyone care to join me?

soop Sun 08-Sept-13 18:37:40

number Mr soop gets to keep the piano. He's just finished a tinkle on the ivories, and lovely it was too.

thatbags Sounds velly interesting...

I'm slightly squiffy. The Sapphire G&T has made me go all giggly. Mr soop commented...Ugh Ugh...or something along those lines. I'm about to totter away from the kitchen and make myself comfy in my favourite chair - that's if Rory hasn't beat me to it. Night night my lovelies. I shall return [tomorrow] big grin x

kittylester Sun 08-Sept-13 18:46:41

Last of the visitors have just gone so I'm looking for somewhere to put my feet up - any space? A big brew would be nice too.

annodomini Sun 08-Sept-13 19:51:28

I've got a cheeky little Argentinian rosé chilled and ready to quaff. Any takers? I'm bringing in a pot of roiboos too.

Gally Mon 09-Sept-13 08:38:24

Oh dear, no breakfast for me today. I'm back on the 5:2 as the weight is creeping back round the waist. I have just uploaded a photo of DGD Nell who is 4 today. I missed her Favourite Story Book Character party yesterday. sad. 450 miles is a long way to go to a party.
soop how lovely to choose a new sofa! Don't let that Rory monopolise it......
I may join you all later for a light lunch!

Lona Mon 09-Sept-13 09:07:23

'Alice' looks lovely, shame it's so far away Gally

Lona Mon 09-Sept-13 09:08:46

According to the 'Fashionable words' thread, I'm having a growth spurt!

Only round the middle though!

soop Mon 09-Sept-13 12:23:43

Lona grin

It's another beautiful day in bonnie Kintyre. Such a silky smooth sea and plump billowing clouds. Some pics to be added later.

I'm ready for a very large mug of coffee. Mine is the mug with poppies on. Anyone for a tartan shortbread or two? Not you, Gally we'll save your share until tomorrow. wink

Today, we have discovered the place for a beautiful piece of needlework, a special gift from thatbags. Mr soop is putting the image on to a memory stick. When he's finished I shall show you all the photo. It's just perfect...

LizG Mon 09-Sept-13 14:21:23

At last Rory has been around for me to introduce myself. How gorgeous and what a relaxing purr. Now I feel truly at home in his kitchen smile

soop Mon 09-Sept-13 15:00:50

Rory likes to have the company of so many of his fans. If he could blush he would.

Am about to include the photo [in my album] of the wall hanging that bags made for our home. We have an alcove and it has been begging for something special to finish it off. The sofa is opposite the alcove...which means that our eyes will be drawn to the colourful patchwork hanging on a daily basis. Thank you, bags it is a work of art. flowers

betsysgran Mon 09-Sept-13 15:49:42

soop great photos, glad to see you are looking so much better. Can I please have a cuddle with Rory when I come? I think I'll bring a gingerbread and some oat and coconut cookies. How many should I bring? See you soon.

soop Mon 09-Sept-13 17:18:51

betsysgran Best bring a few dozen...just to be on the safe side. grin

Grannyeggs Mon 09-Sept-13 17:57:39

Oh Soop, I have been an off and on lurker for most of the summer and I'm glad to say I missed your "fond farewell". What a catastrophe that would have been! So now I have unlurked may I please come into your kitchen, bringing a huge celebratory chocolate cake, I am so glad you are still here.flowers cupcake sunshine

Galen Mon 09-Sept-13 18:39:19
