Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

Lona Thu 12-Sept-13 15:48:56

Thanks soop, don't do too much will you?
Hope mr soop gets sorted, toothache is, like earache, unbearable!

Lona Thu 12-Sept-13 15:58:06

Help yourself Zengran, the scones are delicious and won't last long in here!

glammanana Thu 12-Sept-13 16:01:38

soop hoping your man has some relief from toothache by now nothing worse,I have developed a wobbley bottom tooth and am panic stricken, off to dentist to-morrow am hoping and praying there is not a gap in my smile for wedding photos,it will be the first time in a long time my mouth will be shut.!!!

soop Thu 12-Sept-13 16:32:19

glamma I thought that you were going to say a wobbly bottom. If so, that makes two of us grin

Mr soop is on the bus and returning to collect the car from the garage in Campbeltown. Apparently, please don't laugh, the car has mice. Oh dear me. So much for having a big, black, pussy cat called Rory.

Mr soop has a trip to the dentist booked for the morning. In the afternoon I've an appointment with the audiologist. My hearing aid has developed a high-pitched whistle. I've clicked all the buttons and have made matters worse. hmm

Lovely cup of tea and a delicious cupcake Thanks a lot.

Hope Mr. Soop`s toothache gets sorted, it`s a horrible thing to have to suffer.
First time I`ve heard of a car with mice! Maybe Rory should be sleeping in the car instead of his nice comfy chair?

LizG Thu 12-Sept-13 18:15:01

What a day! It started when I realised my car had not had an MOT since March 2012!!! That has been sorted now but I have been looking after youngest grandson for my daughter as she took her motorbike test and have had to walk everywhere. I also had delivery and collection of other grandchildren to school and dance because middle daughter has a broken toe and can't drive.

Youngest daughter passed her test which is probably good but she can now drive all bikes and plans to get a 600cc bike - not so good, she is 5'4" and of slim build. I shall be permanently worrying about her!

I need a glass of wine urgently please. Thank you so much.

bikergran Thu 12-Sept-13 21:00:41

whoohoo...LizG congratulate your DD from me smile a big! achievement and not! an easy task! and try not to worry (easier said than done) my female motorcycle instructress, was about 5ft weighed about 7 stone wet through and rode a BIG 900cc bike shock

bikergran Thu 12-Sept-13 21:03:37

soop if you need a hand with the painting..we can hire a minibus and gather a few GNetters together, "paintbrushes in hand" grin just say the word! or not! grin

Lona Fri 13-Sept-13 06:55:49

I've sloped in for an early cuppa after a horrible week. Actually I need a hug.
Started when a close cousin's father got sectioned and sent to a hospital for mental disorders, ds and dd's relationship seems to be totally over, and my dgs is being threatened with expulsion from after school club for making totally inappropriate remarks (not first time) that he clearly doesn't know the meaning of!

The repercussions from all of these things are really, really upsetting, and after a couple of years of dreadful family upset for me personally, I am feeling a bit fragile to say the least!

I've had another cuppa now, so I'll go and get ready to leave for a weekend in Wales. Sorry to dump all this so early.........

thatbags Fri 13-Sept-13 07:04:44

Have a hug, Lona. That is a lot to cope with flowers

LizG Fri 13-Sept-13 07:10:27

lona your week makes mine pale into insignificance so sending (((hugs))) . I hope you are able to relax a bit whilst you are away, perhaps these will help you through flowers

I had hoped you would pop in bikergran because I knew you would talk sense. My daughter is 28 and very sensible and part of me wishes I had done the same at her age - now I won't even be able to clamber on the back of her bike sad. Thanks for your congratulations, I will pass them on.

Now where's the coffee? Desperately needed before the child run. Thank you.

kittylester Fri 13-Sept-13 07:17:12

Lona have a hug and then try to enjoy your break.

Liz have a big hug too and then sit in the corner and we'll tell anyone who asks that we haven't seen you grin

Zengran Fri 13-Sept-13 07:19:08

Lona enjoy Wales, take some "me" time, we all need that at some time.
And of course a HUGE hug
smile

Nelliemoser Fri 13-Sept-13 08:22:59

Lona Have a virtual (((hug))) from me. These little gestures get shared around GN and I find them very supportive.

Gally Fri 13-Sept-13 08:49:21

Lona. Sounds a horrible time for you. Go away and try to forget it all if only for just a couple of days.

I woke up this morning, went to the loo half awake, looked in the mirror above the basin and had the most terrible shock....... My MOTHER was staring back at me.. Not the mother I remember as a child but when she was old! shock

Gally Fri 13-Sept-13 08:50:28

I think I need a cup of tea and a piece of toast to recover grin

kittylester Fri 13-Sept-13 08:51:39

Gally scary isn't it? shock

Lona Fri 13-Sept-13 09:34:37

Thanks all for your kind wishes and hugs smile
I'm off now, so I hope you all enjoy your weekends sunshine

soop Fri 13-Sept-13 10:53:12

Lona all good vibes winging their way to you. You most certainly need a break. I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through a very tough time. We'll be here for you when you return. flowers

Gally When I look in the mirror I see my Nana looking back at me. Mind you, she was a sweetie.

LizG Hang out the bunting. Congratulations to your daughter. Do relax a little now that you're in the kitchen. thatbags will have left a batch of her tasty nutty flapjacks...wink

Mr soop at the dentist. I'm about to continue with the painting and such. It would be lovely to have you lot here to help me. Second thoughts hmm bet we wouldn't get a lot done as we'd be chatting, laughing and munching on flapjacks.

LizG Fri 13-Sept-13 21:29:41

Took youngest daughter out for lunch to celebrate passing her bike test and her little boy seems to have picked up a stomach upset. What a mess trying to sort him out in the restaurant loos. Don't think we will go be able to go back there again. What a day I have to admit I have already had a couple of glasses of wine this evening so perhaps I should go for the coffee to help me sober up.

Right, this time I will be putting my feet up over here and dozing off. Nigh night.

LizG Sat 14-Sept-13 07:43:27

Oh goodness, did it again, dropped off to sleep in this cosy kitchen. Still it has given me the opportunity of a good break. I have made some toast for those who want it.

soop Sat 14-Sept-13 13:12:13

LizG Sorry to hear about your grandson's embarrassing episode.
I hope that he's fully recovered. Oh dear, I had an upset belly yesterday. It wasn't welcome as I was trying to decorate. hmm

Just a quick visit to see that all is well and there is a plentiful supply of goodies for any visitors.

It's a glorious day in bonnie Kintyre. Apparently we're in for a heck of a gale tomorrow. If it goes quiet at this end...you'll know that the power lines have been brought down. It's something that we're prepared for.

Enjoy your weekend. sunshine smile brew cupcake wine

kittylester Sat 14-Sept-13 17:20:56

Just in from a hard afternoon's shopping with DGD1. She is very, er, determined grin

Just a short sit down with my feet up and a lovely brew should see me right. I did intend to make some lemon madeleines but, to be honest, I'd rather just sit!

LizG Sun 15-Sept-13 07:55:16

Anyone for a full English breakfast? Well it is Sunday and a tradition. Need to build up my energy before sidesman's duty at Church.
