Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

Nelliemoser I haven't guffawed so loudly in ages. Can't wait to share with Mr soop. Thank you. flowers grin

Lona I will miss jings but, as bags would say, hey ho!

Lona Mon 21-Oct-13 16:53:28

Yes! grin I seem to say that a lot these days!

kittylester Mon 21-Oct-13 16:55:31

Love it Nellie thanks! flowers

POGS Mon 21-Oct-13 17:09:59

Nellie

That is good fun. Talk about David and Goliath. grin

Ariadne Mon 21-Oct-13 18:21:46

Ooohhh, I feel so much better! Suppose Theseus will want dinner soon....

Charleygirl Mon 21-Oct-13 18:35:40

That was so funny.

Soop I just hope that Rory does not put ideas into Tara's head as she is also a great mouser. She loves a "takeaway" late or during the night when she is a bit peckish.

Her name suits her, she is intelligent and beautiful, mainly black with white paws, chest and a streak down her nose. She is resting her eyes now, waiting for supper to be served.

Ariadne Mon 21-Oct-13 21:26:19

ceesnan it certainly shifted a lot of the mould in the grout, but I have a spray on bleach thingy which finished the job. I should do it more often, but hey, life's too short.

How about a wee dram now - a bottle of Talisker seems to have appeared in my handbag.....

annodomini Mon 21-Oct-13 22:18:23

Please may I join you? I have about half a bottle of Drambuie here too. A snifter?

LizG Mon 21-Oct-13 22:49:11

Drambuie. Haven't had that for ages oh and I love it. Thank you so much, a lovely relaxing drink.

NfkDumpling Mon 21-Oct-13 23:03:49

Just popped in having read that Greatnan has joined the list of leavers and I felt the need of a cosy place to cheer me up. I apologise for barging in when I so seldom call but I'm desperately trying to loose weight and there's just too much cake and flapjacks here. Obviously I've been popping my head around the door too early in the day, this is a much more 'spiritual' time!
Off on holiday tomorrow, I'll bring back some duty free.

Nelliemoser Mon 21-Oct-13 23:05:20

One of my son's cat's victories was to bring home a dead mouse complete with attached mousetrap. grin

annodomini Mon 21-Oct-13 23:11:43

You're welcome, LizG. Enjoy your holiday Nfk. It looks like a good time to be leaving the country - the forecast for the end of the week is forbidding to put it mildly.

Ceesnan Tue 22-Oct-13 07:34:25

Thanks to all with tips for removing gunge from tile grout. I'm hoping something more pressing turns up, but otherwise I will tackle the tiles smile

Ariadne Tue 22-Oct-13 09:25:34

Oh dear, shouldn't have had that last dram....Must get moving today; in a minute! Morning all!

soop Tue 22-Oct-13 14:30:30

Ah! That's better! I've just enjoyed a mug of freshly brewed coffee. More in the pot for any visitors. It has been a busy morning with a three hour long ironing session that has made my back complain...just a little. Home again, at last. It's a very peaceful home. The moment I enter, I always breathe a sigh of relief.

Ariadne Talisker is a favourite of Mr soop. I find it a wee bit firey. It makes me cough and splutter. Ardbeg is my tipple. anno I wouldn't say no to a snifter of Dranbuie. It is a special occasion drink. Smooth and soothing. smile

Charleygirl I fully intend telling Rory about Tara and her escapades. He's fast asleep [again] so I shall tell him later wink Nellie very funny! Not just a mouse, but the trap for good measure...grin

Nfk happy travels. Apparently we're in for a spell of unsettled weather. My friend is off to Spain and is expecting sunshine.

Ceesnan Tackle the tiles. You'll be glad that you did.
I'm still gloss painting skirting boards and architraves. Mr soop did a spell this morning. I shall continue once I've caught up with the latest on GN.

Love to you all. Back again soon. sunshine

Just popped in to say Soop my Osteopath always emphasises the 'One hour Rule'.....only ever iron, hoover, etc etc even drive for one hour maximum. Then change the activity..... works for me, back much less of a prob! smile

Ceesnan Wed 23-Oct-13 16:50:38

Soop you were right, I am glad I did the tiles _ they look great!

kittylester Wed 23-Oct-13 16:55:08

Could you pop round here please Ceesnan - I'll make you a brew

Ceesnan Wed 23-Oct-13 18:40:47

Hmmm - it might take more than brew maybe wine and cupcake smile

soop Thu 24-Oct-13 14:19:13

Isn't it a glorious afternoon. We've been to Campbeltown...food shopping, booked car in for MOT, visited the library, walked for a wee while in lovely, warm sunshine.

OGM Yes, I've hear about the 'One hour Rule' but, once I start a job, I feel compelled to finish it. Yesterday afternoon I was painting from 1.30 'til 5.45. When Mr soop pointed out the time, I was flabbergasted. I guessed that it was mid afternoon. Anyway, got an awful lot done. A coat of fresh paint makes a huge difference. This afternoon I shall do another smaller job of painting the passage way. All in a good cause. This is our home. We're not selling. We're staying. Having made the choice, we're both re-energised. grin

Ceesnan Well done!

soop Fri 25-Oct-13 12:10:14

Coffee and virtual date slices for a wee treat. I have just one outstanding job of decorating to finish today. The wee hoos looks very much more smart and cheerful. Well worth the effort.

Rory caught another mouse yesterday. I had to take a photo of him as he lolled in a stupor after the event. Will upload for all his fans to swon over. grin

whenim64 Fri 25-Oct-13 12:14:32

Clever boy, Rory! I bet your house is looking very inviting, soop. Thanks for the date slices. Just the thing with a coffee before I go food shopping - been putting it off all week!

soop Sat 26-Oct-13 13:28:58

when everything is looking fresh and well cared for. A job that needed doing. I'm well satisfied! Now I'm about ready to start preparing for a portrait of a sweet dog called Rosie.

LizG Sun 27-Oct-13 07:13:35

Woken up early thanks to the change in clocks and now I am worrying about the threatened storms. Must remember to suggest OH sorts out the rotary drier. A cup of coffee would be very welcome and a piece of toast if that is okay. Look after yourselves everyone smile

kittylester Sun 27-Oct-13 07:25:08

A big mug of builder's with sugar, please. Rather too many Bellinis last night (get me!!) and we have DD3 etc coming for lunch today.

Any hot toast with loads of butter going?

The thought of a big storm is really worrying, isn't it Liz? I think we should just hunker down in here until it's all over brew
