Can I take it off now? No.

Movedalot Fri 13-Sept-13 16:37:53

Might as well offend both sides at once grin

Movedalot Fri 13-Sept-13 16:38:46

Isn't it considered wrong to have an image of 'Mo'? I thought that was wrong?

Greatnan Fri 13-Sept-13 16:57:56

Thanks for the site, which I have bookmarked. grin

whenim64 Fri 13-Sept-13 17:03:12

Ana Fri 13-Sept-13 18:04:42

I'm sure they've been on here before (courtesy of Bags).
Obviously no fatwa yet...

j08 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:21:38

I don't understand that. Ws it Jesus said they had to wear a burka? I don't remember that bit. confused

j08 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:23:17

No! I don't understand! What's Jesus got to do with it? really confused

j08 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:24:20

You must explain Bags! You can't leave me wondering if my sense of humour has suddenly left me! [worried]

j08 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:24:55

Who might put a fatwa on? Jesus or the other one?

j08 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:25:26

Somebody!!! .............

Ana Fri 13-Sept-13 18:30:37

It's just a jokey cartoon series, jingl! grin
No one is supposed to make an image or or make fun of Mohammed in the Islam culture, so the fatwa would be on the makers of the cartoons, or the editors or someone - or all of them!

j08 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:32:16

Or on you lot for laughing!!! shock

j08 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:35:29

I still don't get it though. hmm [shrug]

How actually is it funny. Where is the funny bit?!

Penstemmon Fri 13-Sept-13 18:35:44

grin

thatbags Fri 13-Sept-13 18:38:32

It's not so much funny, jings, as an ironic and succinct way of commenting about the so-called "freedom" to wear a burka in order to express something. All it really expresses is oppression because most of the people who wear them do not really have a choice or they feel, because of their beliefs, that they don't have a choice.

Iam64 Fri 13-Sept-13 18:44:43

Well, it made me smile -

The Blue Baron on Twitter says: @Ryan__Blake: "It would be great if more people were as supportive of a woman's right to take off the niqab as they were her right to put it on."

Quite.

Eloethan Sat 14-Sept-13 01:46:23

Made me smile too.

baubles Sat 14-Sept-13 08:26:56

gringrin

Stansgran Sat 14-Sept-13 09:12:52

I truly loathe seeing women in a in a niqab. I understand its protection from uncontrollable male lust in Muslim countries but in England we slip the bromide in the tea early on for the male of the species.they should learn .

petallus Sat 14-Sept-13 09:32:44

Not ironic and succinct. Clumsy and obvious.

Greatnan Sat 14-Sept-13 09:49:18

Clearly not obvious enough for some! Some people just don't get irony.
