Why don't men shave their underarms?

Never heard the word before! Totally unimportant.

I wouldn't use the word 'despicable' but I do think it's unsightly.

Was it Liz Hurley who was featured in the press for not shaving her 'pits'

Than goodness I have given uo on sleeveless anyway since my arms hardly match up to Michelle Obama's in terms of muscle tone and shape!!

Then for you natural is hairless, Aka. For most, at least some hair is natural.

It is really a matter of preference to be hairy or hairless, and making it a kind of moral issue by "despising" it seems sick. What is despicable? that is an adjective for a shameful action. Why be ashamed at growing hair where all most people have it? Should men be ashamed of "despicable" moustaches? Try telling that to Hercule Poirot.

'Pitmuffs' does sound as though it's assumed there's rather a lot of it!

I've only ever had sparse underarm hair and only bother to shave if off a couple of times in the summer if I'm wearing sleeveless tops. I suppose if you were very well-endowed it could lead to a perspiration odour problem - yes I know it's washable, but sometimes it must be easier to get rid and use deodorant (after washing, of course!)

With you completely, thatbags. There are many things more important than whether or not our oxters are hairy or denuded. If you don't like the natural look, depilate or stop wearing clothes that show them.

I wonder whether the hairy look is "despised" because it reminds some people of pubic hair and therefore of how their sexy bits naturally look?
