As everyone says - enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! The fact that most days you can do something - or not - as you chose is great. Plus it is just wonderful when the weather is bad that you can hunker down and stay in - as long as you have enough brew cupcake wine!! grin

I hope you enjoy it as much as we are, Tegan! Just relax into it to begin with, and relish the freedom from timetables / meetings / memos etc. tha days are yours now. Apart from DGC, that is! sunshine

Life is just beginning!

Congratulations Tegan. I was dubious at first but I've been retired 4 years and wouldn't swap it for the world. I don't have a great deal of interests or masses of friends but I meet up with some ex colleagues for lunch occasionally. In the summer my DH and myself go out to National Trusts whenever it takes our fancy. Today me and my trusty bus pass are off to wander round the shops at leisure. flowers

..... starting with the S.W. get together in Exeter perhaps...... smile

I've got a friend in Dartmouth that I need to visit so I have a cunning plan to somehow coordinate an Exeter meet up with a trip to Exeter races and a stay in Dartmouth [it could be some time before the runes and lay lines allow all those events to happen at the same time though]. And, of course, there needs to be an East Midlands meet up soon'ish. I'm also planning lots of trips to Birmingham on the train [my roots are calling to me].

Tegan Wed 02-Oct-13 12:31:26

October is full of trips oop north and childminding [already in the 'how did I ever find time to work' mindset smile.

Oldgreymare Wed 02-Oct-13 12:34:07

That's a shame. Enjoy your trips tho'. Perhaps one day we'll have a Grans at the Races Day, you never know!

Tegan - I may have said this before re Brum but my DH says the new library is fantastic. I haven't been yet but he says there are rooftop gardens and all sorts there. I think it is a bit of a monstrosity from the outside myself but he says it's really worth a look inside.

Tegan I wish you time in which to do all those things that you were too busy to enjoy. How lovely for you that you can spend more time with your grandchildren. flowers
