Nagging daughter to get hers!

Lona Fri 04-Oct-13 16:21:54

anno It's like the first day of the sales! grin

JessM Fri 04-Oct-13 16:18:56

not dramatic anno grin

annodomini Fri 04-Oct-13 16:14:15

Being facetious, Jess! Blood test done. Luckily I am old enough to have free flu jabs. The queue outside our medical centre looked like a meeting of the U3A

Not quite sure whether your arms are haemorrhaging or are you just having blood tests? Must check whether the local ASDA here has a pharmacy (£7 flu jab bargain)
The gardening was very soothing in a damp kind of way. Pruning tree heathers "lightly". Bit scary, as never pruned them before. Would they disapprove of my efforts? Should I make an executive decision re applying a more heavy hand on tall bits, or bits sticking out into path?
Stopped when legs and wrists really wet. Learned that if it is iffy, put those water-resistant trousers on before you start, as you don't want to put them on over damp trousers. Denizens of gardeners mess room friendly.
Only 3 intrepid visitors passed by but they also opportunity for a wee chat. smile

Afternoon everyone. I've got my flu jab tomorrow but it's never bothered me so far! Also just received an all clear result for a bowel cancer test.

I've managed to miss being soaked up to now, but it's a very gloomy day.

I lost my armful of blood on Monday and have now had a phone call from GP about raised cholesterol.I have put off the decision about statins by agreeing to try diet for a few months. Has anyone gone down this route with success?

annodomini Fri 04-Oct-13 11:12:09

I had it last Saturday and felt nothing then or later!

berdie Fri 04-Oct-13 10:36:14

Got my Flu jab tomorrow, last year it felt like I had bowled 50 overs at Lords,
DW keeps telling me to "man up".wink

annodomini Fri 04-Oct-13 10:34:45

Just got rid of an armful of blood and had my BP tested. And it has come down, so for the moment I am not at risk of medication!

harrigran Fri 04-Oct-13 10:27:58

Good morning, it is a grey day. DH and I will go out for lunch, to pot with the housework.
I had my flu jab last Friday and this is the first day that my shoulder is not sore and painful. I think how pain free depends on nurse, it was fine last year.

tiggypiro Fri 04-Oct-13 10:25:41

Morning all. I have just cleaned the bathroom so that indicates what the weather is like !

berdie Fri 04-Oct-13 10:24:52

Send them round to me, they can hack away at this jungle I lovingly call a garden.wink

Charleygirl Fri 04-Oct-13 10:21:41

Dull, dreary and raining here in London. Glad that you are settling down in your new abode Mick.

dustyangel Fri 04-Oct-13 09:44:00

Good morning, a fine clear day here, so much overnight dew that everything is drenched. The neighbours are hacking away at the growth round the almond trees.

berdie Fri 04-Oct-13 09:41:00

Ahhhh, brightening up now, might just wash the car before I go to work, or not, decision's decision's.smile

annodomini Fri 04-Oct-13 09:10:22

Wet, grey, birches now turning yellow in my corner of Cheshire. A blood test this morning.

berdie Fri 04-Oct-13 09:08:58

Do you have Lab's,? my two used to love mud and water.

Bez Fri 04-Oct-13 09:08:57

Good morning everyone. Looks as if busy days are planned - we had the most tremendous thunderstorm yesterday evening and it rumbled around till the early hours and the torrential rain continued all night. Looking a bit brighter this morning. Nothing much planned yet but if the bread is stale enough to make crumbs I think I shall mix the Ch*****s puddings. Enjoy your days - great your new abode is warm Mick.

Ariadne Fri 04-Oct-13 09:06:41

Thinking of collecting some gopher wood...

Oldgreymare Fri 04-Oct-13 09:06:05

Mornin'all.
Good way to get a gardening 'fix' Jess.
Thunder and lightning made for a disturbed night here, hope I can keep awake in Art Hist Class wink.
The OG is playing Bridge ALL weekend so I'm planning anadventure! hmm

PRINTMISS Fri 04-Oct-13 09:04:10

Good morning everyone. A bit chilly and dull, with a stiffish breeze, no rain at the moment, and it is supposed to get better during the day, so live in hope. Not a lot doing today, off to support a very small market, I think there may be some really nice cooking apples for sale there.

JessM Fri 04-Oct-13 09:00:03

Penrhyn nellie. Had a fascinating walk around with head gardener who has recently taken over. Not had so much latin thrown at me since I did my o level. Not that big on latin plant names myself. grin
