A DGS riding hat and boots disappear between my house and his ???

Whilst he was staying at mine last weekend I took him to his lesson. When his dad picked him up we loaded everything (he has to bring his duvet amongst other things) into dad's car. DD has just text asking where bag with hat is, and where are boots.
Bloody good question sad

I remember when I was about 16 a relationship bit the dust when my boyfriend asked me 'do you ever talk about anything but bloody horses?' blush

Well he was bloody boring anyway

All animal dung smells disgusting apart from horse dung which smells of apples, carrots, warm earth and newly mown grass.

No wonder it's good for the garden.

I fell out of love with it after shovelling it up for years though [my daughter had far more important things to do and pointed out that I'd wanted a pony as much as she did [she was right about that]].

A riding hat is never going to smell of horse – or any other animal's – dung unless something very odd has been going on.

Incidentally, thinking of such things, did you know that it is still legal for a pregnant woman caught short and nowhere near a loo to pee in a policeman's helmet?

I hope she removes it from his head!

Oh dear! All these "mislaid or in a safe place" items is me down to a tee. particularly with keys.

Me too, Nellie. There was an episode with a passport once...

If only I could use the same 'safe place' there'd be hope I could find things. I've been trying to train myself, with limited success so far, but definitely getting better. Specs though - may aim is to always always put the pair back in their case, and then the case in my hand bag. Where did I put that bag....

Bez Wed 16-Oct-13 11:31:32

My 'safe place' would need to be quite large!!!!!

annodomini Wed 16-Oct-13 11:49:05

Bureau drawers, three drawers in big Georgian chest, two dressing table drawers, bedside table drawer, two drawers in Welsh dresser and then there's the kitchen. How many 'safe places' do I need?

kittylester Wed 16-Oct-13 12:17:53

Don't you find that you need a safe place 'now' so the nearest, safest looking place will do and then it can be put away properly 'later' - well that's what happens to me thlblush

Likewise Kitty paper work goes in the letter rack, that eventually gets sorted into a box file or bin. The box file is then taken upstairs where it sits in the office for a few months before eventually being filed. Of course I then have to search all three places for anything I need.
