Thought I would share this with you...

Having a good sense of humour is an asset. For those who don't have one, don't knock it in others. My ex partner had no sense of humour and no empathy either. Life wasn't a lot of fun with a misery guts.

absent the humour is the sudden switch from sweet little old lady that you think will share her radio to nasty old lady that has been waiting years to get her own back. It is the surprise ending type of humour, but obviously not to every ones taste.

For some reason it makes me think of the granny in the Giles cartoons.

My father and DH used to think that Tommy Cooper was hilarious.
My mother and I could never see why!

Standard and well tried and tested joke formula - set up a scene and then turn it on its head. I loved it!

Just because Greatnan has gone, doesn't mean we can't have a thread dedicated to jokes. I think the two that she started and kept going for such a long time were very popular.

Stiff and stuffy - did you ever read any of the jokes she posted? I found some of them really made me blush and others laugh out loud. She had a lot of life experiences - some of them very sad. I think that was quite an unfair remark apricot

I'm sorry to hear Greatnan has left. I enjoyed her posts and presumed she was on holiday.

I thought she was on holiday as well. She's been very kind to me and helped me when I was in a spot of bother about something a while back.
