Impossible dreams

Well not impossible really, just fantasies. I used to say "When I have arrived in this world" (meaning more money than sense - if you know what I mean) - "I wll have travelled on the Orient Express from London to Venice and dined in the best hotels there" - "I will have a pent-house flat overlooking the sea in Brighton" and "I will own a white Range-Rover with a black top". All of these silly hopeless dreams for me, and now I would not want any of them, but I wonder whether I would have enjoyed any of them had they been available?

Flower the houses I covet are on the dunes on the road between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. They started out looking like shacks but, presumably, they stand on their own bit of land. They are being bought up and redeveloped mainly, it appears, out of glass. They must have the most amazing sea views and must get fabulous buffetings when it's stormy.

We absolutely love Aldeburgh - it's our default place when we want to break. sunshine

Ah I know the ones. Yep lovely area. Love the walk from Thorpeness to Aldeburgh. We have been going there for about 30 year, well that part of the Suffolk coast. I love Suffolk. My best friend and I do the Walberswick thing every year and always stop at Peasenhall for a Full English, and buy sausages on the way back.
