Just had a call from the follow-up pest control man, who has reassured me that rats very rarely pop up in sinks and toilets, but he has seen it twice.
He is going to come round for the next three weeks to check, and has given me his number in case of a dead body or another visit!

All this for just £10.
Three cheers for Cheshire East council, for once a really good service.

No, he was serious, but that's what I thought. It could still come up the toilet though! Yuk!

How will it get through the grate lona I think he was pulling your leg grin

Just had the council pest control man round, as last Friday I found that a rat had visited my corner kitchen cupboard, where the central heating boiler is fitted.
It may have come from next door (new extension) and the drains seem clear, but he said if it gets in the pipes, IT MAY COME UP IN THE KITCHEN SINK OR BATHROOM!
shock shock

I thought that was an urban myth!

I am silently freaking out.

Daddy long legs - DGD3's description "one of those big spiders with wings." so that's why they are scary?

tanith Tue 22-Oct-13 11:54:14

Hee hee glass, I'm sure it served him right! thlgrin

Spiders no problem but a moth or daddy long legs and DH is a basket case and I have to come to the rescue.
We had a daddy long legs in the bedroom the other night and I my feathers were still a little ruffled over a comment he had made earlier so I let him think I was asleep grin nasty I know smile

Tanith are you back from Gibraltar so soon?

Sook Tue 22-Oct-13 08:27:07

I'm not frightened of spiders in fact I quite like them thlsmile. It is mice that fill me with horror, even the smallest one looks huge and threatening to me. I have been known to lock myself in my bedroom on threat of a single invasion thlblush

I've posted before about DD2, in Leicestershire, phoning us, on holiday in Scotland, saying she couldn't come out of her bedroom as a HUGE spider was on the landing waiting for her! thlgrin

My sister's SIL was doing some gardening work for her and came screaming into the house in a panic HELP - There's a killer slow worm in the garden, I'm not going out there until someone catches it!!!

My DDS3 is absolutely terrified by maggots. He wouldn't walk past the bin last summer to help his dad in the garage because there was a maggot on the lid. I didn't tell him what was in the bin grin

tanith

Mine is the same on holiday, any cockroaches and he is an absolute baby.

As for your second post I thought you were just bragging. wink

tanith Mon 21-Oct-13 22:08:37

That reference to the 'longest thing' by the way wasn't meant to refer to any appendages grin

Does anyone else have to save their OH from HUGE!!! spiders?
OH just called me saying there's a HUGE!! spider down here quick! The reason (excuse) he calls me is because I'm happy to catch them and relocate them to the garden where as he'll beat it to death with the longest thing he can find to hand.. really he's scared but won't admit it. Gotta admit though it was a big one.. now happily stalking prey in the garden.
