Can some one please remind me of the name of the American film about the child who always looks on the positive side of things and is always glad. I want to recommend it to someone but can't think of the name. Thank you x

There are not many actors I really like but Hayley Mills is one and Maureen O'Sullivan is the other.

Stansgran I think the film you refer to is Spring and Port Wine – that one certainly featured a herring. The paterfamilias wasn't John Mills, but James Mason. It also had lots of young actors who later became very well-known – Rodney Bewes, Hannah Gordon, Susan George.
