Went out to shop. Car steering wheel freezing! Must remember it's glove time from now on.

Bought milk and some rolls. Thought: "there was something else... ah yes, aspirin".

Got home. Looked at pan containing melted (reset) butter. Thought: "Blast!"

still no oats

By way of lightening the mood, I thought you'd all like to know that I'm turning into a RHINOCEROS!
I had an odd 'spot' on my forehead which I showed to the Doc when I was there for a thyroid check....... she called it a .........horn ( dry skin, it seems!) Galen is bound to know the correct term!
A horn in the middle of my forehead...blush

MrBags is being gallant and has agreed to go back to shop for me. He has just gone upstairs to find my pirse which I just told him is in my bag on my dining chair, which is not upstairs.

It's not just me who has gone scat-tastic!

For those of you who are feeling guilty about scoffing chocolates I seem to recall reading this week that those people who eat chocolate have less fat around their middle than those who don't!! (That doesn't seem to work with me but hey I'm not a scientist)!

AlieOxon Sat 02-Nov-13 10:34:09

Oh bags, that gave me a laugh. Been there, done that!

A thought - does anyone else have a bookcase in their bathroom?

Elegran Sat 02-Nov-13 10:41:34

I've got a couple of those, OGM Does yours draw your fingers to it when you are sitting reading or on the net? Fingernails too, which I am sure is not good for it.

Woke up this morning to discover the water in the steamer that was used to steam a handful of frozen peas last night was still on a very low gas. Fortunately there is not much residue in pea water so the pan, though dark brown, will probably survive.
Oh and while we are on an absent mindedness theme - did my stint this week as NT volunteer gardener, tidying the herbaceous beds. Had a cuppa with the team and went home with their shed key and newest secateurs.

Friend's almost three year old daughter, playing dress up with mummy, falls off sofa, jumps up, straightens herself and says "Is my lipstick still on?"

Ogm be very careful. Rhinos get hunted for their horns!
Yes I have books in bathrooms and toilets! That's how I learnt the facts of life. There was a copy of obst and gynae!

Last week I received a letter telling me that the phone provider of my land line had been taken over by a different provider. Nobody asked me if I wanted to be taken over. The letter gave me the account username and told me the password for security reasons will follow in 7 days, so far so good, last night we had an unexpected thunder clap which caused a power cut resulting in my landline not working and screeching at me when trying to use it. This morning I had to put lots of money into my mobile so that I could ring the new provider to tell them my problem, having been put on hold many times explaining countless times I did not have a password. I am not convinced all of these devices are making my life easier confused

I'm going up to play with toddler and try to distract her. Her nose is definitely out of joint and she's grumpy.

Oldgreymare Sat 02-Nov-13 17:10:02

Oh dear. My No.1 son reacted in much the same way. At two and a half, he came up with what in his mind must have been the best reason:
'Send it back, it swears!'

Sook Sat 02-Nov-13 17:47:26

sunseeker grin it's not true I'm a confirmed chocoholic and distinctly tubby around my middle.

LizG Sat 02-Nov-13 17:49:58

OBN btw it's a sebaceous horn. If you google it there are some fascinating pictures of examples.

OGM what has got into my iPad today?

Grannyknot Sat 02-Nov-13 17:59:55

I almost posted this under "Am I going mad?" Just been to the supermarket with my own carrier bags, including one of my favourite ones (because it's shallow/not deep saw me struggling and said - unobtainable in the UK!) Put the bags in a trolley, put the pound in to release trolley, trolley had gammy wheel, handsome older man about to leave his trolley in the trolley park area said "Here have this one for free". I was so delighted/distracted, promptly left all my bags in the first trolley - and they got nicked!

I can't 'fess up to my stupidity anywhere else ... :P

Grannyknot Sat 02-Nov-13 18:00:59

that doesn't make sense, "saw me struggling" belongs with "handsome older man"! <kicks self again> smile

JessM Sat 02-Nov-13 18:02:33

Do we want to galen? Just before tea?
I have just been wondering (along with my DH, who is doing his maths homework) why a Vulgar Fraction is called vulgar? My only thought was that decimal fractions are so much more elegant, mathematically speaking. Anyone know the answer because wikipedia doesn't.

JessM Sat 02-Nov-13 18:04:39

grannyknot thats as bad as the time I convinced myself that I had left my shopping in the trolley. DH went back to Sainsbury's , enquired, re-shopped and then found the shopping in the boot. No handsome strangers involved though. They are few and far between I find.
