A four line poem

Much to impress in Gransnetters' prose
I couldn't begin to compete
I hear English teachers, them who knows
We who don't can merely bleat.

Had an ongoing survey to complete about the arts and entertainment. Was interviewed a couple of years ago and they update it every year.

One of the questions was 'Do you write or have written any poetry in the last 12 months?' I was about to answer NO then realised that I had indeed written a four liner for GN the day before. So I was able to answer YES!!! very proud.

A can of works newist opened
A rhyme for open is verboten
I may give up on this wayward path
and go and sulk deep in the bath

try again with corrections.

A gorgeous robin sat on my step, he looked at me, I know!!
How does he survive the cold? The north wind it does blow,
There are no trees...... or hedgerows, or nowhere I can see,
That he can hide to come again and have a look at me.

Husband ditched the beta blocker
And it has given him back his mojo
Now I think he's off his rocker
Because he is all a go-go...

(And me? I'm lying low-low )

Four lines was the original request
Some (like me) have failed the test
By getting rather carried away
And having far too much to say

I turn it up, he turns it down
Always with a frosty frown.
This battle's one I always win
I've jammed it with a tiny pin.
