I do sympathise Galen I am currently shivering because the engineer is coming to service my Rayburn later today (Rayburn has been off since last night as it obviously has to be cold for him to work on).

Hope the stair lift can be repaired (if it can don't you just know the engineer won't have the part that he needs with him!)

Like buses, problems rarely seem to come one at a time. Hope your stairlift is soon fixed up Galen and perhaps you can set goals to get the other things done and then at least you will feel they're in hand.

Lift is beyond repair. New one arriving this pm. Decorator coming this pm to give estimate. Got log fire going on third attempt (remember when all I had to do was find two Boy Scouts)
All I need now is a carpet fitter to refit the carpets temporarily until I get new ones.
Just hope the work keeps coming in to pay all this.

has always been a favourite quote because it is just so true. I am somewhaat relieved to hear things are "in hand" and hope it all gets sorted out VERY quickly. If not, could you book into a luxury hotel and claim on the insurance - or better still, against the heating men?

No! I was discussing with lift man a couple of months ago as it was getting very rickety that a new one was on the cards. I've had it over 10years and it was secondhand to start with.

Galen your stairlift has survived very well. I have had mine 4 years and it has had 2 major repairs which hit my pocket.

Lift men are hereutting new lift in. Gary is trying to mend the bath lift they've broken somehow.
