I had to chuckle at Charles (arch tree-hugger and defender of unscientific alternative therapies) decrying those who reject the scientific evidence about humans' influence on global warming.
Oh that £50,000 must have really broke the bank too (I don't think it was his personal money either) It's true what they say when it comes to charity those with the least to give always give the most.
I refuse to accept that someone's hairstyle defines his/her ability to do a job.
One advantage of his visit is keeping the Somerset Levels high on the news agenda (look! It's on here too!) with a slightly greater chance therefore of longer term action.
I remember somebody being castigated on here for hinting that Kirstie Allsopp might be a little er... well padded. That's nothing to absent's attack on Prince Charles who doesn't look at all bad for 65.
Has anyone in Somerset come out and said his visit was a waste of time?
The thread was not intended to be about Somerset - I did not even know he had been there! I just heard something on Any Questions, and was slightly amused by the apparent contradiction in his views about scientific validity.
Whatever you may think about Prince Charles, his visit to Somerset has kept the media's attention on the horrendous conditions in the Levels. As merlot has said, I don't hear anyone there complaining.
Many years ago DD1 (age about 18 months) got very excited when she saw a picture of PC in his Naval unifo0rm in a magazine. "Daddy, daddy daddy," she cried, hugging the magazine to her (Daddy was away at sea at the time)
So no more remarks about his appearance please!!! Although the resemblance is not so marked now
I can't lose any sleep over PC. Think my OH has aged better and is approx same age and he has not had the benefit of the Royal lifestyle. Though he was able to marry the woman of his choice when he wanted to and that has helped ! OH has certainly changed how he wears his hair..though OH lucky to have thick head of hair!
