Although I am grandmother age, middle 50s, my children are 19 and 17, so is it ok for me to join in? I don't feel that the teething/school/tantrums stage of mumsnet is the right place! I have already commented on a couple of threads and love this forum, but just a double check......can I stay please?smile

I have an 18 year old and a 29 year old and am about your age. I do have gcs but it still comes as a surprise to me! I now understand why my oldest friend was in such shock when she became a great-grandmother at the ripe old age of 58.... She was bad enough when she became a grandmother at 40. At which stage I was still thinking of myself (talk about self-delusion) as a young mum!

Oooh thanks to you all! I too have a shock when friends become grandparents, mind you I know there were some who looked askance as we started on the baby years in our very late thirties when they had got through that stage. So glad to have found this forum with its support and humour.grin
