Had to return an electric toothbrush to John Lewis today. It was a replacement for another than broke just short of the JLP 2 year warranty. This one only lasted a year but they didn't quibble about another replacement. As my item is now discontinued they suggested the next one up which, normally, is twice the price BUT this week is on a price match and actually 10 quid less than I paid originally so I got a better toothbrush and a refund! That's service!!

Excellent service it certainly is Mollie.

Have you discovered that if you have one of their Loyalty cards, they offer you a free hot drink and cake once a month ?

Plus I have got one of the Waitrose cards as well and get a free coffee EVERY day ! smile And a newspaper if I spend £5.00.

I've always had good service from JLP with anything bought there,I shop there on a regular basis for household stuff and they always go that extra mile when you need to source something they don't have in stock. They sent for two extra Denby mugs for me to make up a set for DS1 and still only charged me the sale price two weeks after the sale had finished.

Unfortunately, Nankate, it would cost me more than the cost of a coffee and a Guardian to get to my nearest Waitrose, although I am waiting for a delivery at the moment. When we first moved to this village, they never delivered here. Thankfully they do now, as my son has my car - with winter tyres!

I bought a fairly expensive handbag from JL for my son's wedding last year, and the metal pull thingy on the zip broke off and got lost. I took it back (6 months later) and that line had been discontinued, so they gave me a full refund.

At my local Waitrose however, I picked up a bag of frozen scallops in error, I wanted the Fruits de Mer mix, paid for it, realised my mistake when I got home (I live across the road so I walk there) and took it straight back and the manager wouldn't swop it because "the cold chain had been broken". In under half an hour! They were frozen pretty solid.

I posted on the Ramoska thread just today about the first class customer service from Lakeland.

JLP have also had the bright idea of letting you pick up anything you order from them from your local Waitrose instead of waiting in for a delivery. OK, no good for furniture or white goods, but really useful for everything else. I have ordered all sorts of things and then pick them up when visiting my local Waitrose to do my weeks shopping.

My cuisinart soup maker packed up. Lakeland had a new one with me in 24 hours!
I find they're very good
