Bright but chilly here. School run/GSs minding for me today, plus lunch and catch up with friends.

Morning. Light outside and a bit windy. School/Nursery run as GDs stayed here last night. Having a peaceful coffee before the chaos!

Bright and sunny here today and I heard the gritter go past in the early dark.

Off to help Crone suffering DiL today - minus DH. He survived over two weeks in India without the dreaded Delhi Belly, then picked up a bug on the plane. He's better now but best he stays here just in case. (Not sure I should be going either - will restrict myself to washing, ironing and cleaning).

Have a good one everybody. sunshine

Good morning all!

Bright here in N Leicestershire and I think there has been a bit of frost overnight.

Really exciting day ahead for me - a huge filling at the dentist and then a visit to Lakeland to buy freezer labels and a new Jolly Molly! grin

Enjoy your days everyone, especially those who have DGC sunshine

Good morning from a bright and chilly south coast. Think it is going to be a lovely day, I am off to knit and natter, leaving the other half to hang out the washing, which is a sight to behold! Enjoy your days.

Soutra Wed 26-Feb-14 08:10:49

(What's s jolly molly??)
Wall to wall [sunhine] at the moment, birds tweeting their little heads off- you could be forgiven for thinking it is SPRING smile

Soutra Wed 26-Feb-14 08:12:26

sunshine of course - eyes not quite open yet!!

Nonu Wed 26-Feb-14 08:15:11

Glad you posed that question Soutra , was dying to know myself .
Laugh !

Oven gloves! I think it might have been a Leicestershire company during, or just postwar! I'd never heard it until I moved over the border from Derbyshire. Of course the company doesn't exist anymore. They made the really, really thick ones and the only place I can find similar ones are JL, Aga and Lakeland! And, I've got a £5 Lakeland vouchergrin

Beautiful sunny day, I'm looking straight out of my kitchen window to the Thames which is as calm as a mill pond a real change from the fast moving surging mass of late.

kittylester Wed 26-Feb-14 09:22:03

I've just looked on amazon for 'Jolly Molly' and they apparently still exist - although not quite like the old fashioned ones!

annodomini Wed 26-Feb-14 09:23:05

Lovely morning and I think the tulips in the big tub have grown another half inch overnight!

MrsM Wed 26-Feb-14 09:50:52

It is spring, isn't it? There's a lot of warmth in the sun and several bright patches of spring flowers showing

KatyK Wed 26-Feb-14 10:18:51

Beautiful in Birmingham sunshine

harrigran Wed 26-Feb-14 10:19:21

Good morning, sunny here.
Had good news first thing this morning, friend's new GD arrived safely last night. Three years ago her DD almost died from a post partum haemorrhage. This friend lost her son a year ago and the thought of her DD giving birth again was worrying her.

Good to see blue sky now that I have eventually surfaced. I went to choir practice last night (Haydn's Creation) and we sang so well and with such energy and feeling that I couldn't get to sleep last night and when I did, kept waking up with musical phrases going round my head! My brother sings in the same choir and says he always has a glass or two of wine before bed on practice nights. grin

Woke up to find that I have a cold, cough and sore throat [only had this the other week and just got rid of it last weekend!] Mr Roses says it's because I talked too much yesterday at the meet-up[impossible!]I think myself it's the curse of King Tut [or whatever] as we met in the Ashmolean museum in Oxford.Usually sleep like a log, but what with coughing, and an owl going full blast outside our window all night, feel a bit bleary today.Blue sky though and sunshine. Hope to feel better later, for when DGS1 comes blasting through the door after school, as he always does on Wednesdays.Have a good day everyone smile

I can't sleep on choir nights either, so no sleep for me tonight. Think I shall have to try the wine remedy! What a hardship. grin Beautiful here today, so it's cooking up a vast batch of bacon, sweetcorn and onion pancakes for the freezer this morning, followed by some weeding and cutting back this afternoon, and choir tonight.
