It's quite an interesting article from HuffPo.

Lona it looks like we're all introverts, too, so maybe you could come to a meet-up after all grin

Lona Sun 09-Mar-14 08:49:30

Mini I can't even bring myself to go to a local meetup! grin

MiniMouse Sat 08-Mar-14 23:32:59

Oh, good grief, 21 apply to me hmm This is where GN is so brilliant, as we can chat away with dozens of each other without having to walk into a room full of us!

Granniepam Sat 08-Mar-14 15:54:12

Just confirmed what I already knew. Off to have a party by myself. grin wine

soop Sat 08-Mar-14 15:46:34

Yes, bags...which are you? Would you have guessed that I'm 100% introvert?

Lona Sat 08-Mar-14 13:55:37

I had 17 too, I think sometimes I'm an extrovert, but it's just in short bursts!

whenim64 Sat 08-Mar-14 13:42:32

Extravert?? iPad you bring me shame! Extrovert grin

whenim64 Sat 08-Mar-14 13:40:33

Has anyone done the Eysenck test, which looks at introvert/extravert, neurotic/stable? Helps you plot where you come with more scope. I usually get introvert, but depends on mood (and more on the stable side with Eysenck).

annodomini Sat 08-Mar-14 13:32:18

I remember that in my Dip Ed Psychology class (many years ago) we did an extroversion/introversion test and I came out on the cusp.

soop Sat 08-Mar-14 13:12:34

Yep, Galen. Welcome to the club. wink

Galen Sat 08-Mar-14 11:52:59

I said yes to 17 of them. I couldn't answer the relationship one as I'm not in one. Does this mean I'm quite introverted?

soop Sat 08-Mar-14 11:47:41

I'm also 100% introvert. I'm happiest alone or sharing time and space with a good friend. Okay with me. smile

sunseeker Sat 08-Mar-14 11:25:51

100% introvert and shy and lacking confidence as well! I don't panic when the phone rings - I panic when I have to make a phone call!! I have to work out exactly what I have to say and get the call over and done with as soon as possible.

grannyisland Sat 08-Mar-14 10:18:50

Yes, interesting. I knew I lacked social skills - not good at parties at all, but I didn't think of myself as introverted. Until now!

annodomini Sat 08-Mar-14 09:31:44

Somewhere in the middle, I think. I have always been quite shy but paradoxically have rarely lacked confidence.

grumppa Sat 08-Mar-14 09:26:10

Less of an introvert than I thought I was.

Soutra Sat 08-Mar-14 09:15:14

Interesting. Despite being very shy and unconfident ( I have been known to duck out of social engagements or have to take a deep breath and steel myself) I seem to be slightly more of an extrovert- strange. However anything like "audience participation" brings me out in a sweat and I will makey excuse to avpid it!DH is def an introvert but Grace is very out-going, actually she needs to go out right now, so, back in a bit!grin

FlicketyB Sat 08-Mar-14 08:29:32

As a fully out acknowledged introvert, I said yes to most of the signs.

Why do you think I decided not to have a profile or Gransnet and am chary about meeting up, although that I may do now, because I am in contact with someone I know will be there.

Ana Fri 07-Mar-14 19:02:22

I agree, ffinnochio, rather broad, but at least the article conveys the message that not all introverts are shy, retiring types who don't mix and just 'don't like crowds'. I found the points about needing a certain amount of time alone struck a note with me!

ffinnochio Fri 07-Mar-14 18:56:22

Yes, interesting. Broad stroke bullet points I thought, but did capture some salient points.

I'm a confident introvert - and don't panic when the phone goes. Sometimes I just choose not to answer it. smile

apricot It's not the parties I don't enjoy, it the small-chit-chat I have trouble with. grin

apricot Fri 07-Mar-14 18:43:10

I didn't need to click the link, I'm very introverted and a bit Asperger's too. I wouldn't want to be out-going, imagine the horror of enjoying parties!

Bellasnana Fri 07-Mar-14 18:33:57

Always known I am an introvert. Glad to know the phone phobia isn't just me though. I panic when it rings and never answer unless it is a number I recognise. Sometimes not even then. blush

DebnCreme Fri 07-Mar-14 17:52:01

I've always known I was an introverted extrovert so no surprises there. smile
