Happiest Day Of Your Life?

Yes mollie you are right, happiness and babies, someone should do a study!

My happiest moment ever, was sitting on our garden swing [I was considerably lighter in those days] swingly gently with our 6th month old son on my knee, feeling his solid little warm body through my Summer dress. An amazing euphoric sort of happiness just washed over me, and although I have had lots of happy moments nothing like that feeling has ever occurred again.

I'm very glad that so many of us consider the arrival of babies as being a happy experience so I'm trying to imagine what it must be like for those few who feel nothing, or worse...poor, poor souls.

Peering over the side of my hospital bet to look at my newborn son, I just stared at his little screwed up face and couldn't quite believe he was mine.
A happy happy day.

I'm with you TAB12. The happiest days of my life were when our four children were born and also being present at the birth of our DGD. The miracle of life

It's so nice to hear of happy days.. It lifts your spirits and helps you to realise that there are happy people in the world.

My world has been a bit of a struggle in a few ways not meaning financially, both for me and my husband and our parents before us. but could have been much much worse. But so nice to hear all the lovely things said on here, I love it

I'm lucky enough to have had many truly happy days. There have been a number of very sad ones too. Of course, they make the good ones even sweeter.

Me too, so many good things that I can't pick out just one. The day I met DH was pretty good. Birth of each child, so many of their achievements, their weddings, grandchildren...........

Yes. Happy moments too.

Just what I wanted to say Mollie. I have lots of happy moments and some awful memories too but they are all part of life's rich tapestry!

The day I saw my twin grandchildren for the first time. They were about 3 hours old. They were so different in appearance but both so perfect. They have continued to give such pleasure and they will soon be 7 years old.

I really want to answer this but I can't pinpoint one experience. The births of my sons were special of course and my second wedding too and the birth of my precious granddaughter, naturally. But I think happiness has been a whole collection of moments rather than just one particular event or day.

It was so nice to read these stories--please can we hear some more, they are cheerful and serve as medicine to the soul

For me it was 18th May 1991 when my team Motherwell won the Scottish Cup.I had been going to games home and away since the early 70s and always dreamed of us winning a major trophy,I will never forget the absolute joy of eventually seeing them doing just that and the euphoria in and around the town that weekend and for months afterwards,I still go to the games and live in hope that we might win another trophy in my lifetime,definitely the happiest and most joyfull time of my life.

When on holiday with my husband in Greece last year I received some very good news, which I somehow managed to keep to myself until after we'd had a lovely dinner a deux. I ordered a bottle of champagne and then shared the news with my lovely husband who was totally thrilled. It was a perfect moment in time and one I shall always cherish.

When I saw my firstborn for the first time.Both of us had nearly died during the birth, and as soon as I came fully out of the aneasthetic a nurse ''sneaked'' him in to show him to me as I was supposed to be too ill to see him.He was the most beautiful baby in the world and I could not believe it was real.

70th birthday party with all my family and many friends under one roof. Just euphoric!

Think it might have been the day I went in a canoe with grandsons. In the Wye valley.
