Someone's post another thread about the 'how to bag a MILF' on the homepage the other day got me thinking.... are they many good-looking celeb granddads out there?

Personally I wouldn't mind a bit of Pierce Brosnan grin at least for a nice cup of Darjeeling and a walk on the pier.... grin

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Richard Madeley is fanciable - I think he's gorgeous!

POGS Sun 06-Apr-14 21:36:53

Ana

I agree, NOT NOW. grin

River

I will alter it to a very interesting history, wonderful was the wrong word to use. His mother was wonderful however.

Papaoscar

Oh yes indeedy to Rutger Hauer.

Prompted by this thread, what about starting something like a Gransnet Oscar equivalent, perhaps known as the GOTCHERS or GROUCHERS or whatever. Nomination requirements to be set out and ignored, bribery and nepotism to be encouraged, and the award ceremony followed by an enormous red-carpet extravaganza somewhere nice, with a good cabaret - Sir Brucie hosting, perhaps, now that he's retired. There could be some fun in this, and the world would beat a path to our door. The award could be a statuette based on a montage of our personal attributes to be known, of course as a GRANNY. Voting would be open to back-handers, threats, extortion and the usual trickery. And what about a venue? And when? Good chance to dress up and sport our gongs and things in public, though. We'd all be in the Allo, Allo magazine. Any thoughts?

Yes - not bad for a 'blondie' papaoscar! grin I'd forgotten about him.

papaoscar Sun 06-Apr-14 19:31:49

With great respect, Hon. Gransnetters, may I submit Mr Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) for your special consideration.

POGS I agree that the DoE was handsome in his youth but as for having a wonderful life history I have to disagree!

I understand that he was sent to school here and didn't have a visitor for five years, or something like that! And his mother was a schizophrenic and he hardly knew her.

Of course since he married he went on to have a charmed and easy existence!

Ana Sun 06-Apr-14 18:58:40

Yes, I know he was a fine figure of a man in his heyday, POGS, but we're talking about now!

I would have gone for Alan Rickman but apparently he is childless...

Nonu Sun 06-Apr-14 18:55:12

I agree with you POGS
. If one likes "BLondies" I myself have ^always gone for dark haired chaps like darling hubby.
However , Phil has a history of cheating , which may or may not be brushed under the carpet, actually who cares .

The Dof E was a very handsome man in his youth. He has a wonderful life history and his mother is a proven women of substance.

I think I would choose Sean Connery, Brosnan and Roger Moore. Then again Parky could have a bit of a twinkle in the eye left.

Nonu Sun 06-Apr-14 18:09:32

He is starting to look like a tortoise, IMO

Nonu Sun 06-Apr-14 18:08:22

The D of E. would rather have a good s--t,

what ghastly man !!

Hmmm

Ana Sun 06-Apr-14 17:17:38

Noooo! shock

Lona Sun 06-Apr-14 17:15:50

I don't really think the D of E quite fits the bill papaoscar grin

papaoscar Sun 06-Apr-14 17:12:26

How about HRH the esteemed D or E? Anybody see the new HIGNFU last night and the D of E's alleged reaction to the papal gift? What the xxxx's this?

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 05-Apr-14 12:07:04

Can't do that at the moment Absent but having a nice sit down (and eat) in the Galleries lounge at Heathrow. smile

It was simply a rough guess at alternatives to......the other thing smile

I have always fancied Martin Shaw. I think he has matured nicely.

jingl Read a book? What book? What are you talking about? Who has mentioned a book apart from you? I think you might need a nice lie down – without a grandfather and without a book for the time being. Perhaps an ice pack…

Nonu Fri 04-Apr-14 23:01:57

LONA DO TELL, I am all agog !!
Won"t sleep tonight !!
grin

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Apr-14 22:26:36

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Apr-14 21:34:34

absent Fri 04-Apr-14 21:19:12

The usual way – because I read the posts jingl

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Apr-14 20:59:07

How do you know what we have in mind Absent? grin

absent Fri 04-Apr-14 20:45:53

Of course you do Ana but no one here is suggesting fucking just dreamy romantic interludes. Mind you, if it has to be a grandfather…
