It's a bit disconcerting to think of what is actually undereath our houses isn't it?We are always hoping to strike gold, whenever we dig a new flowerbed. Our house is built on what used to be the centre of the old medieval village, then it was cleared and became the garden/stable yard of a large Georgian mansion, then in the 1940's it became a small USA camp[for airmen].Finally built on in the early 1960's as a small close of houses. So far, we have found a huge amount of concrete [from the USA base days] and one very old horseshoe.
