So that's where it's gone - things where they shouldn't be

Good suggestion Elegran but the car has been valeted several times since I returned. Spare glasses are just that carried somewhere safe just in case, usually they never leave the suitcase.

I used to have a SOH but it seems to have totally vanished. I'm sure I had it a week ago!
Any ideas as to what I might have done with it?

Worked it too hard so it needs a holiday? Neglected it and now it is in the huff? It will come back in a while, with its tail between its legs. Meanwhile, keep in contact with GN.

Two months on and my gold bangle is missing somewhere in DD's sitting room. Last seen in DGD's little hand - she's lobbed it somewhere and we've had hands down the sofas, checked toy box and cupboards under the rug - you name it. We all blame me for letting her play with it!

We had GD and her 3 friends stay over recently to celebrate her birthday and so I put the key to the balcony windows in a safe place!!!!!!! Now DH wants to get out there to take down the bunting he'd put up..........

DD1 thought that DGS had eaten all his breakfast up nicely - until she found the toast in the video recorder!

And DD2 has been 'posting' her Fisher Price people down a slot into the rattan conservatory furniture. Any suggestions how to get them out?

Reading my two posts above, I am now wondering if my DGC will be post-people when they grow up? If there is such a career in 20 years' time of course.

My DD and SiL discovered that many of DGS's play people had disappeared.
This mystery was eventually solved when DD caught DGS in the act of posting one of them inside the sub-woofer speaker of their sound system.
DD said that once she had seen him about to do this he continued posting it to dispose of the evidence. There were apparently several in there.

DS1 lost a rather expensive watch and was sad as it had been a wedding present from his wife. A couple of weeks later he shook Cheerios out of the box and there it was. DGS was about eighteen months at the time. Could there be some connection? I said," Crikey, we were happy to get a plastic cowboy from our cornflakes back in the 1950s."

DS1, as a toddler, took the key to our french window down the garden - at least, that's where we supposed he took it. We never saw it again and I've often wondered if subsequent owners ever dug it up or found it in some unlikely place. Similarly, he managed to unscrew the little knob that adjusted my Dad's CH thermostat. That was never seen again either. Luckily, Dad adored his first GS and his wrath didn't last long.

I've lost my gransnet password somewhere in my brain, strange as it's only a little place. It means I can't login to competitions!

There seems to be no hope for our key then. Perhaps it will turn up in the garden in the Spring [hopeful emoticon]

My dear mother in law lost her wedding ring. Ashamed to go out without it, she bought one in Woolworth's.
Years passed until the day she got to the bottom of her flour tin before emptying in a new bag of flour and there was the long-lost ring.

My keys vanished while I was minding DGS2 (15 months) and I was convinced I'd left them in the front door and someone had taken them - I had a disturbed night worrying about someone sneaking in and woke up thinking we'd have to have the locks changed. It's a good job I had one last hunt around all the places i'd already checked 3 or 4 times. As I pulled out my hostess trolley to check under it, the top trays slid apart slightly and there were my keys, sitting on a pyrex dish!
