Christmas bling for the home?

I know it's a way off yet [although the shops are full of Christmas goods] but I wondered if you make a big show of Christmas around the house, lights in the garden, hall full of holly and so on?Our local garden centre has so much this year, that I have already bought a few new things like artificial garlands to drape on the oak mantel, a new Christmas tree and lots of new baubles and lights.I think I like more around the house nowadays because we always have the DGC here around Christmas time[and it gives me an excuse to buy it! So are you blingy or minimalist?

So far, collected a large twig/branch and painted it white. Plan to hang it in the conservatory draped in blue lights to go with my arctic theme of ice and snow

Candles, plural Mishap? Arent you the lucky lady! I only have one candle to admire[although these days it doesn't light up as often as I would like.]

Whitewave that branch idea is a good one. Garden centres charge a lot for ready made ones.The white theme sounds nice, but hope you have a heater in the conservatory as well, as it could make you feel cold with an Arctic scene [complete with icicles?]

Agus do not follow Mishap's lead!! shock You must not decorate your bush with candles it is far too dangerous (unless you have the fire brigade on hand that is)grin

Homebase have some half price artificial trees and also most of their lights as well, so bought some new ones just for a change.DH almost choked when he saw the price at other places, he hasn't bought a tree since about 1970 so thought they were all still about 5 shillings.grin
