I am 63. I have been wearing make up for nearly 50 years. Foundation, powder, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, and lipstick. Would never go downstairs, open the front door, or go out without it. Over the years it has been toned down though..... Not garish.

Just lately, maybe over the past 12 months, when I have been getting ready for bed, I've realised that I've 'forgotten' to use my make up.......

Nothing 'bad' happened when I didn't wear it..... Life carried on as usual! I'm now wondering if it's actually worth bothering with the daily ritual? When I have my make up on, I feel 'dressed' and ready to face the world. But life went on as normal when I didnt !

Aha; it was Lumigan for glaucoma.

Probably too late for me.

I will just admire the DDs' and DGDs' eyelashes (lucky duckies).

Always wear makeup every day = goes on first thing and then I forget about it. Except to refresh lippy throughout the day as it really helps.
Smudgy eyeliner and blonde brow glimmersticks from Avon.

Earrings.
Usually gel nails done every 5 weeks - keeps hands looking tidy.
Nails are paid for using salon gift vouchers.

Look really ~~dopy~~ ropy without some help. smile

Have never worn a lot of make up, don't know how to apply blusher, etc. Sometimes in the past I would wear mascara when going out for the evening, but lipstick was all I ever wore, and even that I rarely think about. I have to wear sunscreen on my nose even in the winter, otherwise it bursts into spots!

Light foundation, loose powder ,blusher , lipstick and no way do I leave the house without mascara. Takes me 5 mins. in the morning. I refresh lipstick when needed. If I'm going out somewhere special or in the evening I will add eye shadow and take a little more time. I'm not bothered if anyone notices or not. I feel better for a bit of colour.

Tegan I've read that you need to be careful with that stuff that claims to make your eyelashes grow as certain ingredients can cause eye colour to change permanently shock

Not all of them have the same ingredients, but it's the ones that contain the stuff used for treating glaucoma. Mumsnet had a discussion a while ago
