I couldn't resist two reduced price plants in Tesco's today..... Haven't the foggiest where they'll go. Then neighbour told me Lidl's plants are ridiculously good value - thank goodness we don't have one on my route to work!

Every year we dig up a bit more lawn to make room for those "must have" bargain plants.

£38 pompa!!! - are you sure that their scanner is working properly. You should have said and I could have shaken some from the dozens of honesty plants in our hedgerow!

It could have something to do with the various plants that had unexpectedly fallen into my trolley (why did I collect a trolley for 1 packet of seeds ?). I did query the bill I said to the cashier "but I only came in for a packet of seeds"

How lovely! I hope the sun shines. Not that it will matter, you will have a warm welcome.

I am being brave today, I am sacking my appalling window cleaner. He who only turns up about four times of year when he needs money for Christmas, Easter, summer holiday, then always misses out several windows. He left a note yesterday, he must be broke. It says 'Cleaning your windows tomorrow, leave CASH under doormat if going out'.

Knitting club tonight, always great fun and far more knitting gets done now that all have realised that wine drinking is not conducive to accurate knitting. Such a shame, but far less expensive a hobby now!

Some of the time I am ok....some of the time I just play solitaire.....today I have had a series of texts from my daughter's very depressed partner....it may have helped trying to think what to say to help him.

(Today I have done a bit of writing about my greatgrandfather. I aim to write about his relationship with his father which from various record hints was a bit fraught. Trying to express that in words helps too.)

I don't have a window cleaner, they were too inefficient - and my gardener has disappeared weeks ago and since the rain my grass is a meadow!

Hello you lovely lot...I have had such a happy lunchtime with our bags and thank you for the messages POGS and janer. The sun is still shining brightly. I seem to have shed a few years (thanks to bags) and maybe have gained a few inches on my waist...thanks to the delicious lunch. I shall add a photo to my album when I've finished catching up with all your news.

As if I didn't have enough hobbies, I have just bought myself a concert ukulele. Our U3A has started a uke group, so thought I'd give it a go. Now how do you tune this @@@@@@ thing ?

Quite right too. My friend wanted to start a ukulele group and I looked at her in horror. They should all be banned to garden sheds, along with small violinists.

Window cleaner is now sacked, and I feel so much better. I should have done it years ago. He did the house across the road, I told him not to come to me - and to my surprise, he drove away. I then realised that all my surrounding neighbours apart from across the road must have dispensed with his services as well. Alie isn't it strange how some gardeners disappear as soon as you really need them.
