After a bath or shower, do you................. ...

I am the former, mostly because in my long life I have never quite got the hang of faffing without the damn towel undoing itself.

Towel, moisturise and get on with life. I hate faffers, don't think you and I could live in the same house Kitty I would drive you up the wall.

I do the faffing in my dressing gown - like Soutra, a towel would at some stage fall off...

I'm sitting here in a towel slathered in moisturiser (eczema treatment) waiting for that to sink in before I put my clothes on with oil on my hair waiting for it to dry off a bit (the hair not the oil) so I don't have to use too much heat on it and encourage the frizzies!

I moisturise and do other beautifying things (hoping they work!) wrapped in a huge towel. But I usually stay in the bathroom.

Kitty my DH also likes the small old hard towels, is it a man thing?

I get dried and dressed. Then faff

I am actually still at the PJ clad faffing stage, haven't made it into the shower yet

Shower every morning (after an hour or so at the allotment), wrap myself in a bath sheet, clean teeth, dry bits that are still wet, moisturise everywhere that sees a bit of sun. Get dressed and dry hair.

I used to say that I could not go out without a shower but DH convinced me how ridiculous it was to shower and then go to the allotment

I have a shower at night and then go to bed to read my book for an hour or so.

No faffing about in towels for me. I am a three minute shower woman. In, out, dried, moisturised and dressed as quickly as possible. I think it all stems from having to get up and dressed in a house with no heating, except for one room, when I was a child. The habit never left me.

Morning Shower towel dry myself, moisturise and dress, can't be doing with faffing the day is too short as it is.

I usually have breckie in my dressing gown then go back upstairs for shower. After which I sit on the bed wrapped in a bath sheet. Moisturise, dry hair, do makeup. By which time I'm mostly dry, quick rub of any damp bits, then dress.

Hilda I think a lot of us grew up in houses like that!

That's why it's nice to have the luxury of being able to wander around in next to nothing after a shower, whatever the weather outside!

Yes Ana. Fire only lit in the afternoon in the forties. Weekly bath. no bath robes that I can remember. Just towels. Lifebuoy soap. I'm digressing. Nice to have the choice of bath/shower/faff/dress/pjs/lie in bed with Gransnet .... aren't we lucky?

Don't usually faff. I also like a hard towel that dries well (so not a man thing). It helps with exfoliation and is good for circulation. End up feeling energized which I don't if I hang around faffing in a damp towel.

Three minute shower and hair wash, towel dry, moisturise and dress. I some how feel guilty about lounging round in towel and dressing gown. I wonder why?

I spend most of my life faffing around, but am a breakfast in pjs, shower and dress person. DH is the one who wanders around with a towel around his waist!

Does sitting in bed with a cup of tea reading Gransnet count as faffing?

I do the faffing before the shower -read emails, Gransnet, Facebook; do crossword on line. After shower, moisturise, dry and scrunch hair, track down some clothes and get the washing on.

Three minute shower here as well. Haven't had bath in donkeys' years-find them boring or I overheat and my head goes all funny. Can go from nightie to out of door in 5 mins. Can't abide faffing-too much to do.

Re the OP, why would this matter or be of interest to anyone else?

Rubbing dry makes me itch, so I have an extra large toweling bath robe that I put on while I wait to dry.

Before I gave up on it I would use that time to apply make up. By the time I had finished I was usually nearly dry.

These days I use the time very productively. I make a mug of coffee and come on here!

I don't think going on GN is faffing Jane. I consider myself to be multitasking - keeping up with important goings on in the world whilst also getting dry!

I initially put my dressing gown on - downstairs and have a coffee and do things such as empty the dishwasher or set it going if it wasn't done the night before. Do all sorts of faffing and eating breakfast - I really should have about six dressing gowns - have shower and get dressed afterwards - either for staying at home for the day or getting ready to go out. I work far quicker first thing in the morning than in the evening
