In October, all the shops in England will be charging for plastic carriers. They already charge for them in Scotland. I have started making shopping bags.
Here is one I have just finished crocheting. My DD took another home with her and my DGD also nabbed one. I think I might go into production, they seem popular.

And if the do manage to take their trolleys as far as the trolley parks, they cba to give them that extra push that spoons them in with the others, they just leave them at all angles so that there is no space left and they all spill out into the path of cars.

Ah well, I suppose it all gives work to those lads who toil across the carpark with a snake of dozens of the things.

Our local Tesco, before the deadline, offered each shopper a 'bag for life'. Like many, since my wife passed, have a boot full of spare bags, and inevitably forget to take one into the store. Getting better at it, but been caught out several times.
For years we recycled our bags, as a perfect fit for our under sink waste bin.

Did anyone else read about the wannabe celeb who took her shopping to her car in the wire basket and was accosted in the car park by two security guards who accused her of stealing the wire basket grin

She must have actually put the wire basket in the boot to be accused of stealing it - silly b.

According to the paper I read she didn't even reach her car. The wire baskets aren't supposed to leave the shop, so I suppose technically she was guilty the minute she stepped over the threshold. I don't think it has anything to do with FB
