Oliver Sprout is in the kitchen with a a magpie.

Stopped mossing for brew and biscuit.

I have lost my reading glasses so am using the varifocals. Tricky.

Things one doesn't want brought it is the main reason I don't have a cat. That and the fact cats think they are gods.

thatbags Tue 01-Sep-15 11:47:50

Brought in! Told you it was tricky.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 01-Sep-15 11:50:41

Indinana - you'll notice no one said anything. Nice aren't we? grin

I'm on here because I've just got up. For no particular reason I had such trouble getting to sleep last night and didn't go off until 5.30. I couldn't believe the time when I woke up and now I am all at sixes and sevens. Just as well I don't have to go to work any more.

I'm on GN because I can't be bothered to get on with vacuuming the carpets. If I concentrate on my iPad I will not notice the 'bits' which seem to have multiplied overnight. I may compromise and pick up the 'big bits' by hand - after yet another black coffee, of course. (Trying to cut the calories, but too idle to be more active today) wink

I just can't seem to add emoticons (is that the correct terminology
?) I really am an ignoramus.

Bellanonna Tue 01-Sep-15 12:36:24

Just home from a 9.30 hospital appointment for DH which included a few routine tests before he saw the cardiologist. Another appointment in 6 months. I thought I'd relax with tea and the iPad. The problem with iPads is they are so mush easier than switching on, and sitting in a less than comfortable chair. I'm slobbing on the bed, under the duvet, as its really miserable, cold and wet. When I say problem, I mean that I tend to visit GN more than I should. I fear its becoming an addiction. Never mind, off on holiday soon, so I won't be able to access the net, at least not without paying an extortionate amount of money for the privilege, so I'll just use it to take pics and send emails with pics of granny and nonno having a lovely holiday in the sun. smile
Hope that magpie's gone phoenix

Bellanonna Tue 01-Sep-15 12:37:53

Switching on a computer, I meant to say

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 01-Sep-15 12:53:58

worlass go the list under the posting box, and then do just as it says. Ie square bracket then type smile (for example) then another square bracket. No spaces and no capital letters.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 01-Sep-15 12:54:38

Give it a try - go on! wink

Bellasnana Tue 01-Sep-15 12:58:47

I'm on GN because my sister and BiL are glued to Bargain Hunt which I do not care for.

I've enjoyed browsing through the threads and seeing what everyone is talking about. Shall shortly be going to the hospital with my sister as she has her chemo today.

Bellasnana Tue 01-Sep-15 13:00:29

Forgot to ask ...... where did the jammy dodger emoticon come from grin

Elegran Tue 01-Sep-15 13:09:34

It is one that we had temporarily that was then taken away from us! Just type biscuit with a [ and a ] round it, like the other emoticons.

Nandalot Tue 01-Sep-15 13:13:43

I'm on now as a reward for having had a good 'go' in the study. Found lots of things I'd forgotten about including something I'd bought a replacement for. Oh well! Reason for unusual industry? BT man coming tomorrow to install super fast! Yeh!

Phoenix, what's the latest on the magpie? Are you superstitious? If you are don't forget to say to him 'Mrs Magpie wants you'. Apparently he is very under the thumb and will be too concerned about that to get up to any mischief!

Bellasnana Tue 01-Sep-15 13:15:22

Thank you, Elegran biscuit smile

Hi JBF! Thanks for the info. I wasn't putting in the brackets, hence no 'wink'. I have roused myself enough to do vacuuming after all. Think that calls for another coffee. wink

Auntieflo Tue 01-Sep-15 14:31:30

I'm on GN now as resting my very aching knees. We are on holiday and have had two days with a lot of walking. Yesterday I hadn't meant to do so much, but we are with a group, and by the time we got to the back of the group after lunch, I hadn't heard all the ' instructions' , so just followed the crowd. Ah! then realised we were off yomping( not really) up to a high point in the far distance. One kind gent caught up with the leader and we managed to get to a point where we could peel off and do the 'short' walk back to the quay and wait for the boat back to St.Mary's. So today we are gathering strength for tomorrow's assault of Tresco. Wish me luck, as it will also be our wedding anniversary 54years.

Marmight Tue 01-Sep-15 14:55:36

....because having mowed the lawn, cleaned and oiled the shears, walked round the village and delivered an old duvet to our 'man of the road', I have just sat down for a breather with a cup 'o tea brew

Happy Anniversary Auntieflo wine

I'm on to stop myself having a little weep! Went to pick DGSs up from school to discover DD has arranged for them to be looked after by a new childminder to 'give us our lives back'. She forgot to tell us!! DH and I are feeling so sad. It feels like the end of something. sad

Waiting for the next instalment in the magpie saga!
